Miles against Stoops/OU would also be interesting
Yep yep ... lots of possibly very interesting matchups with LSU and the Big 12 (Miles vs OSU, Miles vs Stoops, Miles vs Pelini)
How about Miles vs Fisher & Florida State in Atlanta?

I don't think I care about the location - just want to play the best possible team.

Any of the 3 would be good for me. I was at the Cap. one game, and man did I have a great time!! Drank like a fish, ate great, and partied like a rock star!! If we end up with Chic bowl I would want to go up against GA Tech.

I think there's a very good possibility of that happening ... the only thinking working against that is that we played GA Tech in the Peach in 2000, although that was a long time ago so it might not matter.
Doesn't LSU-Florida State in Atlanta sound intriguing? Or LSU vs Butch Davis and North Carolina?

If LSU beats Alabama, and runs the table, in a normal world the most likely scenerio is the Cotton Bowl.
As a number 4 seed, unless we lose to Bama and Ole Miss, we end up in the Cotton. We have the tie breaker over USC and Auburn. The Chick Fil A will then take us over Vandy.
However.... here me out on this. First, we need to beat Bama, and Bama then needs to win out, and then lose the SECCG.
Provided LSU wins out, and Bama LOSES the SECC game, I believe because of the LSU victory, and a SECCG loss, Bama, by virtue of the West alignment, would then slide to the Cotton Bowl.
LSU would then become the #3 team, and at large.
That would leave the SEC with one BCS rep in the Sugar Bowl (hopefully UF). In my opinion, the Cap1 bowl will want the UGA - Ohio State matchup.
After all Florida killed them, we killed them, it's Georgias' turn to kill them. And we'd have the "been there, done that" attitude. Not attractive.
The BCS can have two SEC at large picks (and they usually pick 2 SEC teams for the $$$).
The Big 10 PROBABLY has Penn State in the BCSNCG.
they have a crip finishing schedule.
IMO.. the #2 Big 10 team, Ohio State won't go to the Rose as USC has already skull dragged them. USC will also have killed Notre Dame. The Rose Bowl will pull out of the coalition before they get stuck with Ball State or Boise. Again all the more reason for sending the Buckeyes to the Cap 1 Bowl.
So..... who does the Rose Bowl pick?
They pick the matchup we've been waiting for for 5 years. It's what the world wants to see, and what we can do to set the tone for 2009.
Gimme the Rose! Give us LSU-USC!!!!

No way. Bama would go ahead of us, period. They are going to pick a championship loser over a team that was blown out twice. Plus, Alabama is the "feel good" story this year in CFB. No friggin way do I think the scenario above would ever pan out, barring Bama losing the rest of its games and not going to the SEC Champ. game.

Careful what you wish for!! USC is MUCH better than LSU!!!! If UGA and Fla put up 50 on the Tigers USC could do the same thing!! AND USC has a better D than BOTH FLA and UGA!!

Um, the 2002 Tigers were 8-4 going into the Cotton Bowl against a 10-2 UTexass. Just sayin.
Oh, yeah, back to the original question...with a 1 PM Jan. 2nd kick, and right down the road in Dallas, give me the Cotton Bowl against Okie State. This will be a much better bowl starting in 2010 when it moves to the new Boss Hog Stadium in Arlington.

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to college football these last 50 years. There is no chance - none - zero - that the Rose Bowl would pass over a Big11Ten team for their game. Forget all the rest. The Rose Bowl will, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, take a Pac-10 and Big11Ten team for its matchup. Moreover, it has been 12 years since Ohio State played in the Rose Bowl, so they would fall all over themselves to get the Buckeyes there.
Two things have to happen in order for LSU to wind up in the Rose:
1) Loser of the WLOCP has to lose again.
2) Ohio St. has to lose again.

Forget the Cap One or Outback - have no desire to play a Big Ten team. Plus loser of SEC title game is likely in one of these. The loser of the UGA Fla game is likely for a BCS at large if they win out.
Would prefer the Peach or Cotton. If Cotton, would love to play FSU and if Cotton would like to see Texas Tech or Nebraska.

I definitely agree with this ... those SEC-Big10 matchups are snooze fests to me...If I have to see Georgia-Wisconsin or Penn State-Tenn one more time I think I'm gonna vomit.
Booooring.

Can't happen unless LSU were to lose out. Look at the SEC bowl eligible teams and the SEC bowl slots and you'll see why. LSU will play in either the Peach or Cotton or Cap1, book it.

LSU would likely need to lose to either Ole Miss or Arky in order for the Cotton Bowl to pass them by. I'm not sure I'm ok with that.

LSU will beat Ole Miss ... I hope, lol.
