You really think this wasn't discussed during the two months since Athlon published it?

What the frick has Ga.'s coach done? Has he ever won the NC game? Every year they pump him up & by season end he gets his arse whipped if he makes it to the SEC championship!

They dont write his checks. I doubt he cares. He will retire at LSU. Plain and simple.

Having Richt over Miles is a joke. MR has been at UGA longer and accomplished less than Les has at LSU.
The guy that does a lot of that stuff (Brandaon Gall or something like that) either has a grudge against LSU or Miles.
Derek Ponamsky had a twitter exhange with him last weekend and DP asked what coaches he thought were elite. He had the usual suspects of course (Saban, Meyer, Peterson, Patterson) but also included Sumlin, who I like, but he hasn't done enough yet and Al Golden. Golden did a nice job at Temple and was a good looking candidate for a bigger and job and he might turn out to be an excellent coach. but 13-11 in 2 years at Miami? Pitiful and while he did inhert a mess and has/had NCAA issues hanging over them that pales in comparison to what happened at Penn State and OBrien went 8-4 last year and that was after the NCAA allowed players to transfer last summer with out penalty. Sorry Golden has done nothing to suggest he's better than Les Miles.

Sorry guys, but Miles has had some big gameday meltdowns and people remember that stuff. Otherwise, Miles does a very good job and has had great success, but laying an egg in the Bama NC game, the Ole Miss "spike" game, and numerous other clock management and play-calling debacles over the years tends to stick with people.

And he reinforces that image at least once a year on national television. It's not just the media and opposing teams fan's either. MOST of the LSU Nation know exactly what we have in Les Miles. Hopefully, Cam Cameron will be the coach we've all been waiting for that will step in and help to eliminate all these game management and play calling fiascos.

All Miles does is win. All the media does is create controversy. Lets just all keep doing what we do.

Pissed off LSU fans probably purchased more issues than anyone as a result.

Had he won on 1/9/12, he would have put all doubters to rest. Instead, he had to bring his bed sheets to the landfill because had he thrown them away in his own trash can, his neighborhood would have had to evacuate.

This. 1/9/12, would have gone a LONG way helping Les' image. That loss is on him and nobody but him.

Maybe they are a joke. And maybe they do knock LSU every year. But for the last several years, not so impressive. Overall, he's better than #7. But... the past several years CLM has not looked like one of the SEC's top coaches, even though LSU's record has been pretty good. The negative ripple effect from the 1/9 fiasco continues to haunt him and us. And then giving away the game to Alabama this past season, and losing to Clemson did nothing to enhance his reputation.

really? the whole media? you are incorrect. yes, some members of the media fall for the same thing some lsu fans do; the man can really butcher the english language at times and appear to be goofy. but miles as a moron is NOT the general perception of him in the media. some people are smart enough to actually see what the man has accomplished at LSU and give him credit accordingly. it seems that LSU fans themselves (some, not all) ASSIST the "media" in giving impressions about coaches. some LSU fans hate their coach and have in the 50 years or so i've been a student, alum and fan. saban did not walk on water for long at LSU.
