They are a joke and they knock LSU every year. Shocked their all star writer Brandon Gall didn't compose that piece. This is that same list same time last year worse than bleacher report

That article was written almost two months ago and has already been discussed here. There is no need to link it and give Athlon more web hits and support.

While this is true, how can anyone who knows anything about football rank him below three coaches who has never won the SEC?

Not to mention, people seem to forget Miles beat Sumlin last year.

They can think he's a moron all they want - but you can't argue with 2 SEC Championships, and 1 National Championship.

Sporting News HC list
Saban
Spurrier
Miles
Richt
Bielema
Sumlin

Jones
Freeze
Pinkel

Since this is a conference list, these are the only ones currently coaching that have won conference championship.
Spurrier 6

I'm surprised Miles was that high. I have at 11.

This is true.
We need a big year this coming one, for no other reason than bc not much is expected of us.
The success or overachievemnet we possibly obtain will have to be a labled a result of solid coaching.

Like it or not Les could use it in the eyes of the media and college football world.

I hope the OC hire does the trick, we'll see.

From what I have observed, most of the fans of opposing teams concur with this assessment.

He's beaten all of the coaches ahead of him accept Franklin (didn't yet play him). So why is he ranked below them? Just look at what those guys have done at their respective schools and the positions they've brought them. I think what's killing Miles is that no matter what anyone says, he inherited a championship caliber team and didn't build it on his own. He's maintained it fairly well, but has underachieved at times. Plus, his MNC is legit, but tainted with the fact he backed into it with 2 losses. I believe the media looks at all of this.

Had he won on 1/9/12, he would have put all doubters to rest. Instead, he had to bring his bed sheets to the landfill because had he thrown them away in his own trash can, his neighborhood would have had to evacuate.

Of course they do, but the guy keeps recruiting and winning and they are scared shitless to play us. That is the bottom line!

An OOC team? Miles is 40-2 or some such thing. A conference team? I think he has a winning record against everyone save Florida and UGA (a split with each I believe). They're fans.

I don't give what a rats arse what the perception is, the fact is a moron doesn't go 84-21 in 8 seasons.

Let's do a little comparison on the coaches who are above him:
Spurrier in the same time span is 66-37 at SC......WTF? Thats good for #2, he doesn't own an SEC (Miles has 2) much less a national title while at SC.

Mark Richt is 118-40, I would bet quite a sum of money that Miles hits 120 wins before he gets to 40 losses. Richt's teams are always overrated and have won very few big games (meanwhile playing the best (Bama/LSU) few times in the last several years.

Kevin Sumlin - Guy has had one good year, let's see him do it again. And let's not forget who won head-to-head last year.

Dan Mullen - Is 0-5 against Miles. Has more losses in 5 years at St than Miles has had in 8 years. Owns 0 championships of any kind.
