At what point do we just admit that the other teams are better

No relief pitching
No clutch hitting
Bad defense at catcher
It doesn't matter what a player is supposed to be, what matters is who they are.
Right now this team is just not very good.
Looking at 4-11 with a trip to Oxford coming up.
Can't give up, but the next 6 games will be as tough as any except maybe Vanderbilt.

LSU was better than South Carolina in the first two games and should have easily won both
Problem is LSU has zero SEC caliber pitching for game 3s and probably will lose every one remaining

I don’t know if it’s really the other team being better when you’re three outs from a shutout win and completely implode. The other team can’t win the game for you.

That's why I mentioned clutch hitting. The overall statistics look okay, but there have been 3 other SEC games that should have been closed out with a win that were not.
The other team is better because they can hit and pitch better when the game is up for grabs.

It’s funny, I track a lot of roster movement of guys around the sec. everyone has players transfer out. Tennessee has former players in the weekend rotation at Arizona and Notre Dame. They have infielders starting at Charlotte and Cincinnati.
We have guys fall off the face of the earth after leaving our program. We might get talent at the top of the class, but we don’t get deep classes at all. We turn the roster over a bunch and cycle through guys that can’t play anywhere.

Hope you win one long shot for 2 against the rebels and pray you can scrap together a win against arky. If you sweep bama and auburn maybe you can salvage the season if getting to go down to Ruston is your goal. At LSU it is not. Sadly I don’t see enough wins.
