At what point do people stop renewing season tickets?
This is precisely why we still have that knucklehead as head coach. He keeps the quality of the program at a "satisfactory" level. Apparently, not being an awful team does matter when it comes to the financial well-being of the Athletic Department. Sadly, it really is all about money.

Those of you giving up your tickets, where are your seats and how many tickets do you have?
I have some. Might get some more.

The notion that there are hordes of Tiger fans beating down the gates to pay the extortion required for entry is a complete and utter facilcy. Virtually every single game tickets are available for face or less, yet seats are unoccupied everywhere while fans get on TD from their recliner and bitch about not being able to get tickets and question the loyalty of anyone that's actually out there and complains about any facet of their experience.
spot on brother.... we have been season ticket holders for 20 years.. and this year will be the fewest home and or road games we will go to.
each year the experience has changed - for the worse.
and.. about 5 years ago I used to have people beating down my door to try to buy any number of our tickets......
the last 2 seasons at times we have not been able to give them away.
for the first time we are considering giving them up or selling them.
the first sentence in your comment is golden....pure gold...

I'll take them!
I'm looking forward to the new addition. Maybe it will drive down ticket prices a little.

Hopefully dick shits like you will stop renewing soon so that other fans that are chomping at the bit trying to get tickets would have an opportunity.
Are you chomping at the nits outside the stadium on gameday?
Tickets are extremely easy to get right now. Just show up.

You don't think you could find a coach for half that salary to do a satisfactory job?

a lot of the people I know that have given up and or are giving up/selling their tickets... have had tickets since the hallman era and even further back.
hardly makes them bandwagon fans..

Aside from concessions, I don't see why LSU gives 2 shits if there are butts in the seat. As long as the tickets are paid for. Who cares.

I think LSU hopes that fans stop buying tickets, and more companies start buying tickets. This way they can increase ticket prices quicker, and hear less flack for the increase.
My first Tiger game was when I was 6. I sat between my Dad and a fat man chomping a cigar that I can still smell and yelling "Tiger Bait" at some Mississippi State players. My Dad and I atteneded every home game for the next 14 years in Baton Rouge. That was through the Arnsparger years, Mike Archer years, the dreaded Curley Hallman years, and the Gerry Dinardo years.
Its a shame that things changed so much, and now not many kids will get that experience.

I have been a season ticket holder since Curley's first year. Ticket price was $18 per game. LSU had a day you could go and pick out the seats you wanted. Available seats had a sheet of colored construction paper taped to them with the seat location printed on the front. You would remove the ones you wanted and walk down to the ticket office and write the check. There were thousands available in the bowl area.
Over the years the atmosphere changed from hoping to win the game to where its at now- expecting to win. That makes a lot less excitement inside.
Tailgating was only a fraction of what it is now and didnt really start to explode until the year of the 2003 championship. After that it got out of control with people on campus just for the tailgating and making the parking and traffic a nightmare.
The additions of new buildings all around campus has eliminated thousands of parking areas over the last 10 years even though the stadium capacity rose from 77,000 to 93,000.
With that being said the number one problem that has to be fixed to stop the decline in attendance is parking and traffic control. Ticket prices are high but most of us look at it as a way or an excuse to give money to the university. The increases pending wont keep me from renewing again but the absolute horror of the traffic may well change my mind.

I'm not sure how to fix the parking issue. I think they'll eventually have to pave Hayfield or something.
They are going to have to come up with more parking decks in the future, and I think they have some planned.

I think the frustration is more from the changes made to everything surrounding the game than the actual outcome of the game itself. It does appeared the administration has squeezed the fan base as much as they can and to the limits of what we are willing to take. It goes from traffic to parking to the experience within the stadium. They should try to be more accommodating. Listen to the fans more and quit trying to squeeze every last dollar out of everyone on gameday. But for those fans that want to drop their tickets because we have two losses, f them. They need to give up their tickets.

If they are giving back millions to the university every year.. .they don't need to raise ticket prices to offset rising expenses and coaches salaries..
Now.. someone in the athletic dept has told me that the COST OF CLEANUP after games has gone up a great deal - and we know what that is from...

What they should do is allow cheaper or free parking for the non conference games. they should encourage people to attend. Even if they have to charge more for the other games. Also listen to the fans about the atmosphere within the stadium itself. Scale the music back some. Every second doesn't have to be filled with a song or a commercial. Its a lot of little things that would make a big difference and they would be easy to implement.

No, since I live in Houston, I don't drive 5 hours without a ticket to the game.
I paid too much money for them on StubHub. I would gladly buy anyone's season tickets for face value since so many claim to have so much trouble trying to sell them for that.

Have you purchased your tickets for the Arkansas game from the ticket office? The ticket office is struggling to sell extra lower bowl tickets for this one.

I would, however, buy all of these tickets that people claim to struggle to sell for 2014.
