you win ten games then its hard to fire a ten win coach. No one wants to be known as the next Nebraska.

He is now 7-8 in the SEC over the last two seasons (3-5 last year, 4-3 this year). Arkansas will be tough, so 7-9 in the SEC is quite possible.

technically, he already is there over his last 16 regular season SEC games. We lost in OT to Arky in 2007 to end the season

what does he need to do in 2010 to keep his job for 2011?

given his buyout, is getting rid of him a realistic option? I mean, LSU is talking about cutting back on Tops. Times are tough. If he doesn't turn it around next year, I'm worried that there's nothing LSU can do anyway.

He would have to beat Bama, Florida, and Ole Miss. Take the West and win the SEC.

However, he should be fired this year.

Not only win the west, but be competative and IMPROVE as a team over the course of the season.

Also, send Crowton to my house to cut the grass while I throw flaming bags of dog crap at him.

The 8 wins clause is true, but it looks like it needs the presidents approval

I agree. Miles must win the SEC next year.

He won't be fired, get over it fans.
The reason we have Miles is because LSU is CHEAP.
Now, the fans have had it with Miles ignorance.

Does he have a year?
we play ark, if we lose that. Damn. Maybe he's gone, but I doubt it. They've done given Miles the bank.

Beat saban & urban next year and at least go to the sec championship game will save him IMO.

I think he needs to win the SEC West next season to win people back. We've already proven that we're no longer among the SEC elite, losing our division again next year solidifies that standing.

Maybe. Maybe not. If they win next year despite the coaching and still have tons of issues with penalties, game delays, etc., it *might* not be enough.

Gotta win the West and hopefully the SEC.

Otherwise, we can't do this again. Crowton has to be thrown to the horde knowing that's not gonna hold them without the next season being a spectacular turn around. Without Crowton, we never would have been in this situation in the first place if you take the emotion of the stupidity of that last minute out of it.

Gives us time to work on getting that buyout money ready if he doesn't pull it off.

i don't know. it's almost as if his fate is already sealed even though we all know he won't be sacked for at least a year, because this team is damaged.

you know, he will have to fire crowton, and whoever comes in is going to get handed a lot of offensive talent, but the players are wild-eyed and scared, like abused animals, and they either will come together around the new O.C. and be incredible, or it will go ahead and fall all the way apart.

if it falls all the way apart (7-5 next year), les will be sent packing.

First of all it depends on our performance against Arkansas and in the bowl game. Horrible performances in both will set the bar high and vice versa.

Bama and Auburn will be similar to how they are now, OM should retract, and Arkansas will be better. A 10-2 regular season if we finish 09 10-3, a West championship if we suck it up and finish 9-4 or 8-5.

Agreed...and there is a chance we win 10 this year...if we can beat Arkansas, odds are we get to 10 wins. If you would ask me at the beginning of the season how I would feel to finish 10-3, I would be pleased...but you have to look beyond number of wins when you don't win championships...
