Dwayne Bowe after eye surgery.
During a bowl game (Sugar Bowl vs Illinois I believe) Terry Bradshaw commented on Dwayne’s eye surgery. He said,”…his sight improved so much, he broke up with his girlfriend.”
Not sure why, but I laugh at that every time I think about it.

I’m gonna throw Debo Jones out there. Didn’t fully start until his senior year and ended up as a Butkus award finalist. I’m sure it didn’t help being behind Kwon Alexander but he made the most out of his one year starting.

It's hard to say Burrow made a bigger leap than Daniels. I think Burrow had it at points the first year but not consistently. Daniels didn't have that same level (even just for parts of some games) the first year.
I would agree Burrow made the bigger jump. Some folks don't want to hear it because they really dismissed and dogged Daniels for his Junior season, more so than Burrow (though Burrow did have critics his Junior season) but even if you take away Daniels running numbers, his passing numbers by themselves were better than Burrows their respective junior years.
Burrow 2018 - 219-379 for 2894 yards; 7.64 YPA - 16 TD's/5 Int's 58% Completion Percentage.
Daniel 2022 - 266-388 for 2913 yards; 7.51 YPA - 17 TD's/3 Int's 68% Completion percentage.
And Daniels ran for 500 more yards than Burrow.
So if you go by that I think you can reasonably say Burrow made the bigger leap....IMHO. But both really improved dramatically.

I believe Devin White deserves consideration.
2016: 30 total tackles, primarily on STs as a freshman
2017: 133 total tackles, 4.5 sacks as a sophomore
Obviously continued on that trajectory in 2018. He was a fast, physical tackling machine who like JB & JD on OFF, was the leader of our DEF.

I seem to remember quite a few linebackers making huge jumps in production. Deion Jones and Duke Riley were mostly ST guys until they blew up their last year. Damone Clark and even Kevin Minter iirc both made drastic improvement their last year. Offensively I think Steven Ridley comes to mind and maybe Terrance Magee. Both really shined when they were given more workload.

Josh Reed - went from RB depth guy to stud WR setting all-time records.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think Josh Reed started off as a RB and by his last year had unstoppable chemistry with Rohan. Had a decent NFL career.

You have to say the biggest leap was Burrow just because of where he ended up. Both of them after their first year here were roughly equivalent (good, serviceable, above average D1 starters), but Burrow not only won the Heisman, he broke the all time record for votes for a Heisman winner. He didn’t just win a natty, he went 15-0 and beat all 4 preseason top 4 teams in the process.
Now we don’t blame Jayden for the 3 losses at all, he did what he could but it is what it is.
FYI-Nuss had a better first year than both of them. Could he take that leap this year?

Damone Clarke is a great answer. He went from complete liability to Devin White Jr.
Perry Riley comes to mind. Guy was great his last year.

Darrell Williams ended up being a damn good RB in 2017 after playing behind Fournette & Guice

Herb Tyler. Undersized QB came in as a true FR when Jamie Howard got hurt. Had an incredible career.

Who was a guy that was a DL at LSU and not overly impressive, but switched to OL in the league and had a long career?
Man at least you're trying!!! If it's Al Woods you're thinking about he played nose in the NFL. Played a lot at LSU after being a highly rated player but never really put up numbers.

Kelvin Sheppard had a pretty decent jump from his sophomore to junior season. He played in every game in '08 (SO), started 5 or 6 of them. Showed flashes for sure.
Started every game the next year and doubled his tackle totals, caused a few turnovers, and became the unquestioned leader in the middle.
K. Sheppard Stats / BIO
Not necessarily the BEST answer to this question, but he very clearly improved from '08-'09.

Danielle Hunter was solid at LSU but the dude has been consistently averaging double digit sacks in the NFL.
I don't know about drastically but it was always shocking to me that Danny McCray lasted as long as he did in the league.
Also Omar Speights is now starting for the Rams.

Brandon LaFell. Couldn't catch anything to becoming WR#1.
