I know it’s early but after this season we will lose Pinson, Days, and likely Eason to the NBA. We bring in a stud 5 star PF in Julian Phillips who will likely be an instant plug in play in place of Eason. We also bring in 4 star SF Devin Ree who is long and athletic a lot like Fudge. We will also return Miller who I believe was going to be one of the best SG in the country this year so that’s huge. That leaves us one scholarship for the portal and it will likely be used on another PG as a ball handler in place of Pinson. We are going to be really good for at least the next couple of years people.

The future is bright as hell. Need to announce a new arena and it’s to the moon for this program

Wade will likely pull in another big name out of nowhere. I seems to happen every year.

I believe they recruited Efton with the thought he is a one and done. I may be wrong in this. I also know the way he has played so far doesn’t make it seem like he will be, but sometimes when these guys expect to be one and done they go no matter how they played in that one season.

We have a supporting cast of 3 to 4 year players that could make the team really special over the next couple years.

Wilkinson and Gaines are 4 year guys. Unless Fudge and Murray break out big time next year, I think they're hear at least until their Junior yea
r.
Reid seems like he should come back for one more season, but it's unlikely he'll come back for more than that.

Don't know enough about Justice Williams yet.

At this point, unless they really like it here and are definitely in the future plans for the team, Colbert and Ezeweiro don't look like long term roster guys.

I wouldn’t count Reid as a for sure returner. As the season progresses, I have no doubt we see Reid improve all areas statistically. A 7ft center that can average +10pts & +8 rebounds is a typically a first round pick.

Efton is definitely not gonna be one and done. Wade has already stated they are pretty much done recruiting 2022 because he expects to only have 2 spots (Pinson and Days exhausting eligibility). However Tari is playing his way into first round contention and will probably leave so we will have 1 spot for a transfer PG like OP said.

Miller, Murray, and Williams alone should form the base of a common Will Wade team. Might end up being the best 3 guards he’s had together.

Whatever you add is really lagniappe. Which also looks to be formidable,

2022-2023 has potential to be another elite roster.

Guards

Adam Miller
Eric Gaines
Brandon Murray
Justice Williams

Great mix of elite defense, scoring, athleticism. On paper could be best group of guards in the SEC.

Small Forwards

Mwani Wilkinson
Alex Fudge
Devin Ree

This is where I think we should add a transfer player particularly with the inside outside game Days / Eason will leave behind. The three guys we have are FREAK athletes but defense oriented. Although if Mwani 3 ball keeps developing watch out.

Power Forwards / Center

Julian Phillips
Bradley Ezewiro
Shareef O'Neal
Jerrell Colbert
Efton Reid *

Phillips and Reid if he comes back would be a formidable front-court. Shareef if healthy as a senior would give good depth. I'm hopeful that Ezewiro / Colbert stay and develop because they could be the contributors for the following season. And we would have to overhaul our roster which is always hard for big guys.

I mentioned it in the game thread a few days ago but getting an upperclassman with a few years of eligibility at guard like Vescovi would be incredible. Right now our weakness is shooting. Having Miller, Vescovi (not necessarily him but a great experienced transfer in the same mold), an improved Gaines and Mwani rotating at the guard positions with what I expect to be a damn strong guard in Justice Williams would be incredible.

I suspect Coach Wade is gonna lean heavily on a big transfer PF or C too in addition to having what I expect to be a dominating Efton Reid next year

We will do some roster shuffling im sure with some guys like O'Neal, Ezeiwro and Colbert. We've seen it every year. Not insinuating all 3 are gone by any means but we've seen with will Wade teams if you're not much of a contributor you usually don't last.

Definitely will need a guard to replace pinson.

Yeah no way Reid leaves after this seaaon. He needs another year easily. He played like 8 minutes against Tennessee and didn't have a single point.

I have a feeling Colbert or Eezewiro will transfer out next season. And probably one of the guards too, my thought is Gaines but hopefully I am wrong.

I gotta think the plan is from next year on Gaines is the starting PG until he leaves LSU, plus Wade loves this guy.

idk why he would leave but in this day and age anything can happen

Don't see Gaines going anywhere but would be surprised if he started.

If its between williams, Gaines, Murray and Miller next year at guard. Miller and Murray are your starters IMO.

Gaines still just a little too out of control to be your main ball handler. You can can be that way if you're super high assist or scoring guy but Gaines isn't really either of those.
