Article: Wade One step Closer To getting Back On court/ Calls out Yahoo!

I didn't see this shared. I apologize if it has been.
ATVS called out Yahoo!/Pete Thamel for jumping to conclusions and not doing any actual journalism (investigate/research) when writing their article concerning the FBI being in Baton Rouge
LINK
Cliffs:
The Will Wade saga took another turn this weekend, as Yahoo breathlessly reported that FBI agents were in Baton Rouge to investigate him. Pete Thamel then takes the logical leap that “The FBI’s interest in Wade’s recruiting tactics could potentially signal an expansion in the federal basketball corruption case. An FBI agent who was in Baton Rouge declined comment when reached by Yahoo Sports.” Ummm… yeah. So, the FBI wouldn’t comment on why it was investigating Wade, so Yahoo reported that it signaled an expansion of the investigation. This reporting held up for a good hour or two, before ESPN weighed in on the case.
Mark Schlabach did some actual reporting instead of just guessing what FBI agents investigating a witness in a federal trial might mean, and reported that federal prosecutors were asking the judge to prevent Wade from testifying.
The key information here is that the feds believe Wade is going to talk about all of the times Dawkins didn’t bribe him, which isn’t really a defense for the times other coaches did bribe him, especially since Wade isn’t named in the complaint. No one, other than Yahoo Sports, is accusing Wade and Dawkins of engaging in a bribery scheme.
I urge you to read the article.. not just the cliffs.

Man... Thamel's hackishness seriously knows no bounds. What a fricking loser that guy is

Goes to show how big of a loser Alleva is to cave over a fckn yahoo article.

That’s right, Will Wade planned on testifying about how Dawkins did NOT bribe him. The FBI wasn’t “possibly expanding” the case, the FBI was instead trying to narrow the case for the prosecutors.

Good thing Alleva got ahead of this whole thing and suspended Wade.
Way to think on his feet.

To be fair, Yahoo was implying it and a lot of Wade haters like Dickie V ran with the implication including Alleva and FKA.

Wait, so you're telling me that Joe Alleva panicked over an issue and overreacted?
No way. Not with his history.

If you read the Yahoo articles the authors always leave themselves with a plausible deniability out toward the end to protect themselves against a libel suit.

I know you are being facetious but this is exactly what happened.

Mark Schlabach does a nice job- glad to seem him demonstrate responsible journalism

I’m not concerned about yahoo and how much of his research was done the right way.
I’m much more concerned about F King and Alleva making hundred of thousands of dollars a year and finding a way to hurt our university at every turn.
This will continue to happen regardless of who the reporter or reporting company is.
Alleva and Joe are the problem. You can throw the board in to but only the govener can start solving that problem.

For everyone's hatred of JBE... I would get ready for heads to roll.
To many people saying he's the reason the board is what it is.

I'm sorry, I'm waiting for expert commentary from Lester Earl before I have any reaction.

You remember that scene at the end of Requiem for a Dream with Jennifer Connelly? That's what I hope happens to Pete Thamel and Don Wolken

I'm curious to know who's footing the bill for those Yahoo articles (and DV), because I have conspiracy suspicions.
