Arky relies more on the homerun than LSU - likely very few homeruns in Omaha

Arkansas is hitting 124 home runs this year, while LSU is at 101.

Due to the wind this weekend, few if any homeruns will be hit in that park so mother nature might once again come in clutch for LSU and help neutralize some of Arkansas' strength.

My takeaway: we're better at manufacturing runs and frick Arkansas!

Pretty disingenuous thread.
Arkansas is 12th nationally in batting average, lsu is 52nd. They have a higher OBP. Regardless of the method they use, using most advanced metrics, they are ahead of lsu at the plate.

There were 37 Homers hit in Omaha last year. The notion that you can't hit homers in Omaha is pretty invalid at this point

OP was very specific to the winds expected for the weekend.

On the Musso podcast yesterday he said that Arkansas got 66% of their runs from HRs this post season. Yes, they can hit but I don't see them hitting a ton of HRs in Omaha with the larger field.

Also the best player on the team Aloy only had 0 RBI in the two games vs TN. He didn't have a lot of RBIs in the post season and Arkansas still scored a ton of runs. Hoping he doesn't go on a tear.

True, but alot of those are with neutral or favorable wind. Plus, balls were clearly juiced more the past two years. I havent seen anyone bring this up, but homers are down a bit from the last two years, about 10% down actually. The big parks during conference tournamenrts this year played real big.

In the post season so far yes they have scored 60-70% of their runs on the long ball, but don’t get it twisted they’re a good in the park hitting team too. Pitchers are really gonna have to limit the amount of mistakes, and play the corners to their advantage, or Arkansas can make you pay.

I can't remember which year, maybe 2013 or 2015, but I specifically remember LSU having many many long pop ups to the wall at Omaha after they switched to the new park.

Tigers have scored many of their runs in postseason via HRs also.

The weather has as much or more impact as the team hitting.

Yeah that was the year Shawn Ochinko went 0 for 2 with two home runs. I think they were both in the first game. Don't remember for sure man, but he hit two bombs that just died in that Park

Ehh its partially true.

Statistically sure. But Arkansas only scored 3 ER between Anderson and Eyanson 2 of which were solo homers. I think Musso said something like 66% of their runs in the NCAA tourney have been via HR. And I think 9 of their 15 runs against Tenn were off of homers.

When we played, LSU had more multi hit innings than Arkansas in the series.

I could go for some Tiger offense like in game 2 vs Arkansas when Eyanson pitched. Brown and Frey went off in a run rule win.

and Eyanson went 6 innings, 5 H, 11K, 0 ER and then Arkansas didn't even score until the 7th

You're really grasping at straws to try to say the LSU has an advantage at the plate tomorrow night

We won’t beat them by hitting better. We just need to hope our pitching shuts them down and we can scratch together enough runs, probably against bullpen.

That’s going to be true for every game.
