Go watch the Florida game highlights again.

Man, I was at that game with my son. I only go to about one game every two years, and what a treat that one was. JD won the Heisman that night.

Check out 2:04. That run is full on JD.

You people have lost your minds. That looks nothing like JD. Honestly looks pretty ordinary in that video.

Agreed.

JD was the best open field runner I've EVER seen at LSU..at any position. Sure you had some with more power. Sure you had some with better straight line speed. But his spatial awareness of where defenders were at all time and vision, combined with the ability to effortlessly accelerate was unbelievable. Defenders, great defenders, NFL level defenders, would seemingly have him dead to rights and he would either just slither away from a would-be tackler or make just a subtle move and glide right past a defender who seemingly had a perfect angle on him.

This is just ONE game (vs. Alabama). He had 163 rushing yards in essentially 3 quarters. The run at the 5:00 mark is particularly filthy. He damn near blew out No. 32's knee. He routinely did this every game.

You could see Sam's "it" factor even as a freshman at Michigan State. Dude is NFL ready.

JD was EASILY the best dual threat of all time. It's like the world knew the concept of dual threat but had never seen it in reality. Who is anywhere near him?

Michael Vick? Passed for 1840 yards in his best season. 2000!!! yards less than JD.
Vince Young? JD had 12 more total TDs and nearly a 1000 yards on Young's best season.
Johnny Manziel? JD had better passing stats and 5 more TDs than Manziels best year. Also half the interceptions.

Tim Tebow? in his best year he threw for 3,286 yards and 32 touchdowns while rushing for an additional 895 yards and 23 touchdowns
This article says Tebow is the best all time college dual threat...

Article

While he had more total TDs than JD he had less passing yards, less rushing yards, a worse td to int ratio and less yards per run.

JD 2023 stats
Passing Yards: 3,812
Passing Touchdowns: 40
Rushing Yards: 1,134
Rushing Touchdowns: 10
8.4 yards per carry.
16.2 yards/completion. 11.7 yards/attempt!!
4 interceptions...

Manziel was not a linear runner.

He had one of the best foot plants I’ve ever seen on a runner and he knew exactly when to use it.

It is exactly what made him so good.

More of a linear runner vs Jayden Daniels. Definitely true

Not an insult to manziel, who was a creative runner at times, especially as a scrambler.

Too soon to be declaring Leavitt a lock.

We need to see him on the field.
