everyone in college football better strap up if and when the one year transfer rule is waived for first time transfers, especially teams with elite blue chip recruits who aren't getting the PT they think the "deserve" their freshman seasons as well as G5 schools with good players that weren't heavily recruited out of high school. At least most coaches have buyouts for leaving under contract and professionals don't get paid if they decide to "opt out." There are no mitigating factors whatsoever for college athletes wanting to transfer and play elsewhere immediately if all this comes to pass. The transfer prostal was bad enough, but the NCAA is seemingly trying to destroy college football with every move they've made the past several years.

No question.

G5 schools would have very little chance to keep their great players and the "rich" would get much richer. The players today have very little loyalty to their programs so if they perceive a "better" opportunity they are gone without a second thought.

Conceivably LSU SHOULD be one of the "rich" set to pillage lesser programs. But that posture could be greatly diminished if they don't get their shite together...quickly!!!

Still, abolishing the "sit one" rule is terrible for college football as a whole.

Jamarr Chase quit before the season. How many big name players need to bail before you realize that this is not an issue of them being "soft?"

Gilbert can frick off. Don't want a non-team player back. At this point, there's no acceptable reason to "opt-out", especially for a freshman.

Good riddance.

Orgeron better bring in a spread guru offensive coordinator if he thinks Gilbert can be swayed back.

Exactly.

sucks as a fan, but its true.

Yes he quit. People quit. If you don't like a job, you quit and find a better one.
Otherwise you're probably complacent and have no drive.

It was on O to build on that initial trust from recruiting and deliver coaching equal to when Gilbert committed. That's what he sold him on.

It didn't happen. Gilbert is gonna go try to find it elsewhere. Not that hard to understand.

Gilbert could also be leaving because maybe Brennan won't be back next year because of his injury. Does he trust this system with a MJ/TJ or Nuss?

I think there's a lot more than just my body hurts.

bingo. players might be less inclined to leave if the program is running smoothly. no one can argue the program is a mess right now, and that is O's responsibility (the guy that quit as a player also).

This has nothing to do with Gilbert being a quitter.

Jesus christ...a quitter is a quitter. If you want to transfer, finish what you started, then do it. It's called character, and values. Apparently you have neither.

Lol...he has 35 receptions as a freshman TE. This culture has gone to shite. Zero character. That's the future of this radical nation.
