WMDs (Megatron) keep piling up.

Just looking at this film it's fair to say he's a TE.

He will line up all over, just like the rest of our players. That’s the beauty of our offense.

On Wednesday, LSU freshman tight end Arik Gilbert was seen at Terrence Edwards' Wide Receiver Academy, putting in some much needed work. For Gilbert, this has been a long time coming as it was announced by coach Ed Orgeron right before the spring that he would miss all of spring practice recovering from shoulder surgery.

"Arik is one of the best tight ends to come out in the country the past 10 to 15 years,” Orgeron said. “He can also play X and Z, but he is not going to be going through spring ball because of an operation on his shoulder.

"I'm considering Arik Gilbert as a wide receiver," Orgeron said. "I can't wait for him to come back. Obviously we can use him at tight end but we can split him out at "X" and we can get some mismatches with this kid, especially in the redzone. He's going to be a nice target there for Myles Brennan."

He will be flex'd out a ton, it looks like a WR but I'd call it modern day NFL TE basically. You gotta be able to flex out and block inside as well. TEs have evolved.

And we got Megatron’s old coach!

Added:

The biggest news is the governor is an LSU fan.

quote:

"I feel confident that we're going to play," head coach Ed Orgeron told "Off the Bench" in an interview. "I feel confident that at some point or another, we're going to start. Hopefully we can get our guys back maybe in June, maybe in July, hopefully that's going to happen. We've just got to follow the governor's orders. "
.

June would be awesome.

Gov Edwards better let that team get back ASAP if he knows what’s good for him

This receiving core will be down right filthy! Chase, Marshall, McMath(who I think will have a huge year), Palmer, Boutte and Gilbert.

Good luck stopping Brennan & company with this WR/TE room.

The WR and the TE in our offense both have to be able act as part time wide receivers.

Its what makes out offense so great. We can use the same personell to run 5 wide sets, 4 wide sets, 3 wide sets with a TE and RB.

WE go fast and change formation before the snap. Creates major nightmares for defenss.

I am excited about Gilbert.

Also ithing about Gilbert, Taylor and Marshall all in the red zone.

No way. He may get a "look" there, but he's too much of a weapon as a tight end for LSU at the moment.

I'm not saying that they won't use him as a wr in some packages down by the goal line, bc it would be stupid not to. He's going to be productive at either position but I just see him being a huge mismatch at tight end, on top of all the other weapons we already have at every other position. If this is all we have to worry about with our offense, we are in great shape lol. Geaux tigers.

I love LSU football, but I hope football is not the governor’s primary concern or motivator right now.

No doubt, remember a few years ago Dillon Gordon was LSUs leading TE. He ended up being a OL in the NFL

you seem more concerned about the governor than the motivator right now.

My biggest concern will be Esminger's ability to innovate. Yeah, he's got the basics down after observing Brady for a year, but how's he going to do in high-pressure situations?

Our offense last year is now on tape. He can't just repeat that and get even half of the success.

No, just saying there is a lot to think about: health of public, future of thousands of businesses, safety of heath professionals and first responders, availability of tests and potential treatments. LSU football maybe gets pushed down his list a little.
I don’t care for politics; not getting into al that.

I would be fine if E repeated every single play from last season in exactly the same order

It was on tape last year also. Kirby said in the SEC champ post game interview that they knew what we were going to do and had seen it before. We just did it better than they did.

People already know the scheme, it's all about the execution of it in the game
