Why not run a few screens to the RB, try to run around the edges? How about a WR on a end around?

No, a poorly coached team did. 2 muffed punts, 2 missed assignments on kick protection, horrible offensive game plan. That cost us the game.

You didn’t even list the primary reason LSU lost the game which was an inability to get FSU off the field on third down. The offense was proficient for the limited number of possessions they had as a result. 3.3 points per possession is very good as is 5 red zone trips in 7 possessions. It amazes me how people keep harping on the offense without understanding that context.

We hardly had the ball. Muffed punts took away two possessions.

Muffed punts cost us a whopping 2:30 secs of time, about 12 yds total, and no points.

Should have been much worse, but Norvell is terrible. That said, the “cost us so much” narrative is a reach.

nah let's put the slowest guy on the team behind an offensive line that hasn't jelled yet

Directly that’s true, but the first muff was the difference between having 1:10 and 3:15 for the final drive of the first half. I agree it’s a big what-if to say that definitively took away points, but it did take away an extra opportunity.
