Perhaps your wife should do you a favor and miss her first game in 15 years if she laughs at the thought of LSU having a chance to beat Bama. She can let you go with someone that you'll have fun with.

Bama basically needed two miracles to squeak by us the last two times in Tiger Stadium and we beat one of their most talented teams in Tiger Stadium with JJ at QB. Of course they're an awesome team that can whip anyone's arse, but the last two #1 ranked Bama teams that came to Tiger Stadium both barely got out alive (6-pt OT win in 2008 and 4-point win off the screen pass to Yeldon with less than a minute left).

Alabama is VERY good but let's not be blind to what we see on the field. They're the same team that Ole Miss was leading 24-3. Contrary to the media, they are beatable. If it was any other team, the rhetoric would be different. The fact is....they are led by a Frosh QB, rb's are not as good as usual, and struggle offensively due to those facts. LSU will be the best defense they face all year as well. How many freshman QB's would you really expect to beat a good SEC defense? Bama will struggle offensively. Our lines will have a long day but please don't act like we won't be the 1st team that plays man and commit safeties to helping with the run. It will cause problems for them. As good as Hurts is, he's still a freshman. Ettling will be just good enough to make "enough" plays to free up the run game here and there. Although we lost to Auburn, that last pass was a pressure situation and he scene and made the play. It didn't count but at the time, he didn't know that. I say that to say the kid made a huge play in a huge moment. He will be ready. I'm just tired of everyone regurgitating what the media perpetuates! Bama does indeed have weaknesses, just their D has been hiding it.

Same thing I said to myself...

It's still kind of hard to say how good we are, but I think our D is good, our RBs are great and our QB/WRs are getting better and better. Our offensive rhythym is way better. And the only common opponent we've had with Bama, we've performed much better against. It doesn't mean much, but at least it's something.

Our lines concern me due to their inconsistent play, but they have shown the ability to play very well at times.

He hasn't been tricked much. He's the best for a reason for sure! I just feel like we can compete with them. If we end up winning the games we lost, I feel like people would have a different perspective. I know their guys in the trenches are dominate, which definitely gives me concerns, but you'd be surprised what a team could do with confidence and heart! I could see this like the 2014 game. If we stop the run, it'll be a defensive game.

Well we've had Bama beaten a few times and let it slip away. We have had those Bama teams beaten with LSU teams that may not be as good as this one, so I like our chances.

We are more versatile on offense than the past few meetings and I love what we are doing on defense. Fact is , we have talent on par with Alabama at just about every position. LSU is the only team year in and year out that can stand toe to toe with Bama and this year is no different.

I like our chances mostly because we've had em beat in the past with teams that were playing at a less complete level this this team is playing.

That depends. If you think we are great, the no. Good team with potential, yes.

I haven't seen them struggling a whole lot on offense. They haven't settled on an RB, but their RBs have ridiculous ypc averages and their QB is averaging 5.5 ypc. We're a much tougher D than those that they've faced though. They've played some crappy defenses.

However, on D, I do think their secondary is vulnerable, so if we can get our passing game going, it can open some things up in the running game for us.

Awesome

I had to stop reading right there. So your wife convinced you to tuck your balls and then you came here to the rant to hopefully get them to drop again?

Lsu is an interception and 1 second from being ranked #2 in the country. have more players going into next years nfl draft than any other team. Have as much talent top to bottom as any school. Have a lot of excitement and momentum going now, along with a decent offense for a change. Have the gumps coming to Death Valley with a freshman qb and no les miles to let them off the hook. Dis gon be good.

Honestly? We have a better QB. I have not been impressed with Hurts at all. Put him on any other team and he would be getting sacked every other play and he can't throw for shite.

But it's Bama, so even when they have an obviously shitty player, the media touts him as being great.

Historically it's been near impossible to go undefeated in the SEC. Sure, it's happened but more often than not the best team in conference will slip up at least once. With a freshman QB and questions in the secondary I think bama is due to drop a game this year. Looking at the schedule this is the one that they'd be most forgiven for losing and it's still early enough in November for them to climb back up the polls and get in that 4 spot if they don't win the conference. For that reason, I believe LSU beats the streak and hands BAMA their Mulligan loss of the year.

Sounds like your marriage is on the rocks. You need to get her pregnant. You can start tonight since it's a bye for LSU.

He's not the best downfield passer for sure, but he's completing 63% of his passes, has 12 TDs to 5 Ints. and is Bama's 2nd leading rusher with 500+ yards (and he leads them in rushing TDs with 9). For a true freshman on any team, that's pretty damn good. Pressure him though and his completion % will take a nice hit.

I honestly think our D can hold Bama to 14 points. Just a matter of giving them rest and scoring points on offense and not allowing those defensive and ST points.
