Tiger Fans are turning into Dodger Fans...show late and leave early....two problems <1> people who show to tailgate w/o game tickets...Parking is already a problem and the lot is full of tailgaters when leaving <2> post game traffic is an abomination...Stay the whole game and it takes 1 1/2-2 hrs to get from Nicholson to Zachary.

Arizona was giving out cash raffle prizes to try and keep the student section here after half time. According to athletic director its a huge issue everywhere. Also, with televised games they can drag on forever with the TV Delays, then throw in reviews...AZ games are almost 4 hours of bad football.

TV timeouts, post-game traffic anxiety, desire to watch other (more competitive)games, and overall discomfort (heat, humidity, uncomfortable seats, etc) seem to suck the life out of crowds used to watching at home on big screens in a recliner with cold beer, hot food, clean restrooms, etc.

bingo. and I think the fans have gotten older too. the cost to attend is such that the older ones that earn more can afford it better. and these guys are more interested in the "comforts".

I think we very well may have peaked as to actual attendance at live sporting events.

I said it in another thread. When people can "check in" on Facebook and Instagram, then leave at half because their phone service gets better, the free food and cold drinks are waiting on them at their tailgate, and the game they just left is on a big screen TV at said tailgate. So why would they want to stay inside hot stadium?

Bama got smart and threatened to revoke fraternity's tickets if their group left early. LSU should do the same

This is the main reason I will leave a game early. Other than the booze the best part about watching a game in a suite is the ability to watch other games.

I'm not sure if other schools are having fans leave early, but as much as I love LSU, if we are ahead we sit on the lead as we did Ms State. Really boring...I'm ready to see games like Ole Miss/Bama, Ole Miss/ Florida State. It hurts to say this because I really hate Ole Miss and Bama

It's a problem nationwide, but the problem is worse at LSU than other schools... Inter-connected Reasons:

1. Spoiled fanbase that has gotten "lazy" with prolonged success (I'm one of them)
2. Humid weather
3. Tailgating culture
4. Night games
5. Aging in-stadium fanbase
6. More apathetic student section than past

Has 0 to do with the product on the field.

Didn't Saban come out a few years ago and trashed the fans for leaving early?

It's an issue everywhere, but nowhere I have encountered is it as pronounced as at LSU.

I'll say this, as hot and muggy as it still is at night in Baton Rouge, if the game isn't close or against a good team, people aren't going to stay.

I was the Jville State game, and we left at half time. It was just so damn hot and muggy out and the game wasn't that intriguing.

If the weather was nicer/cooler I'd be more inclined to stay for the entire thing. Otherwise, I look forward to getting back into the air conditioning.

Disagree. The product on the field is the main reason I rarely attend games anymore. That and the 200 mile round trip, which wouldn't be that bad IF there was a better product on the field.

JPLS covered most of it..but let me add one more...these players who bring their PC politics to the field are not helping the cause either...jmho

before the LSU AD starts bitching about people leaving early they need to consider that the EBRPD is doing his fan base no favors once they get in their car.

Neither the LSUAD nor the EBPRD can defy the laws of physics.

You simply CAN NOT move that volume of cars out of that area in a timely manner. The infrastructure is simply not there.

The only thing that can change that is to spend a shite ton of money on roadways to handle traffic 6-7 times a year, which would be stupid.

Those same roads are a complete shitshow every other day of the year, not just gameday.

Nicholson at Brightside finally got a left turn arrow last year. It had been "in the works" for 40 years.

They've been "planning to" widen Nicholson from burbank to Brightside for 30 years with still no start date in sight.

It's not like these roads only suck 7 days out of the year...
