Sonny’s Take: LSU has a 5-4 edge in the last nine games played in Bryant-Denny Stadium but hasn’t won in Tuscaloosa since the 9-6 field goal fest in 2011. This series will kick off during the day for the first time since 2010 when the Tigers knocked off the Crimson Tide, 24-21, in Baton Rouge. A senior quarterback in Joe Burrow plus veterans surrounding him at every position on offense should help with the pressure of ending an eight-game losing streak. Toss in what should be a dominant Tiger defense and LSU has the talent to go head to head with the Tide. Playing loose and taking a different offensive approach is an absolute MUST. Scoring has been a problem for the Tigers with just 10 points in the last three matchups with a pair of shutouts included. The staff will show that different approach in 2019, and it all boils down to being able to protect Burrow to put enough points on the scoreboard. At some point, all streaks come to an end. Call me crazy, but I think this is the year … LSU wins 30-27

Shea’s Take: With a veteran quarterback in Burrow and a new-look offensive approach (not to mention plenty of weapons in the passing game), the Tigers have no excuses to not score a point this time around. Both teams will be coming off a bye game, and both will field defenses that should be among the nation’s best. LSU has the talent to beat the Tide, but stealing one in Tuscaloosa with an SEC West crown likely on the line will be tough. If Tagovailoa is searching for a Heisman moment after falling short a year ago, this game could become the late-season platform ... Alabama wins 17-14

It's a loss, but a close one.

Billy’s Take: If this is the year LSU can do it, this is as good of a chance as ever. Sometimes it's best to go on the road and be the team without any pressure on itself. I do think that both teams are going to be undefeated at this point in the season. What a mega matchup it'll be. For me, this is the beginning of the legend that is Joe Burrow. LSU keeps the tempo going much faster than it did a year ago in its ultra-conservative approach. Burrow takes shots down the field to Terrace Marshall, Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson and hits enough to open things up for the Tigers. All the pressure will be on Alabama and this is the year I think it all finally ends. Eventually, I'll hit on a prediction for the Tigers to take down the Tide. This could very well be the year ... LSU wins, 20-17

I actually like us playing at Tuscaloosa. I think we play too tight at home. As much as we as fans harp on the necessity to beat the Tide, I hope the coaches find a way to get the team to play loose. Even though Les couldn't crack the win column vs Saban after the regular season win in 2011, I think his laid back, kookiness put his players at ease. Gamplanning, adjustments and striking the balance between getting the team ready without overstressing them is essential.

Well we DID score points last time we played at Bryant-Denny so that's optimistic at least.

LSU is also 0-8 in the last 8 against Alabama and 0-3 on the road in that time span

It’s not happening. Just accept it. Especially not at their place.

I no longer get my Hopes up. I won't believe LSU beats Bama until I see it happen.

Negatigers are none too happy with those guys spewing that positive garbage. I haven't read much of this thread but they are swarming in defending Alabama.

E cannot even score on bama now he will score 30 and win?

other than blind hope what past evidence points you to believing this? bama will overlook us? saban will shite the bed on his in game prep?

let us pray kid brady sets the world on fire and we can execute and we have receivers who can hold the ball and we have O lineman who can block. if not it is all just rainbows and unicorns. RPO or no RPO once they squat on short routes we will be forced to complete intermediate to deep throws and/or have a good rushing game (especially north-south, hopefully RPO and spread passes will give us this) if we are using spread passing or else we are toast.

The last team that beat bama after a long losing streak was the '82 team, and it was in bama they did it. There are some similarities between this 2019 team and that one. Both had SR. QB's, both had a highly touted freshman RB, both had a veteran defense. Not saying LSU will win, but this is the best team LSU has had since 2011, and that team did beat bama. Just hope if LSU wins in the reg season and they meet in the CFP, LSU will beat them twice. Now that would really be a statement win.

I think it's two fold:

1) they see the positive energy around the program and all have stated they truly believe the offense is changing and will be good.

2) they know who their audience is and no one will pay to read articles that tell them how much their team sucks.

He couldn’t be basing it off the past 3 seasons, could he?

He’s obviously not a true LSU fan.
