The BCS no longer exists & has not for years now. Do you live in a cave?

Period. Until then, he is being evaluated. Why can you not grasp that

What the frick are you talking about. Every coach everywhere is always being evaluated. If O can't win O can't stay. Where would you get the idea that anybody would want him to stay if he wasn't winning and where in my posts have you seen me say that.

Buckeye Ree told us last night that Peterson was garbage coach. So I think there are a lot of people that think Ed Orgeron is the third best coach in CFB

Wait, are there people that actually think it’s remotely possible that Orgeron is going to be cut loose right now simply because Woodward was hired? This is actually something people are debating?

Woodward never would have hired him in the first place (and neither should have Alleva) but y’all truly are crazy if you think he’d fire him right now and it’s a rather idiotic discussion if this is the new hot topic on here.

I’m sure O’s leash just got shorter, though

You want a new head football coach now?

No, not today

But if he loses to Saban and Jimbo yet again, and has another 3-loss year, are you ready then?

We finished #6 in coach O’s 2nd year. Literally 2 plays going differently would have put us in the playoff. Next year is even more promising. I didn’t want coach o either but he’s done a good job. Great recruiting and players play hard for him. He’s here now so why not give the man a chance?

“ll happily take Jimbo over O every day of the week. I'm not willing to fire O while he's obviously doing well to replace him with jimbo. I'm sorry that people like you and others in this thread don't get it.”

You wonder why we don’t get it? It’s likely because statements like this make absolutely zero sense and sound insane. In one statement you claim that yes you’d take Jimbo over 0 any day then directly after you use some stupid semantics to say that no you wouldn’t. It’s almost as if logic and common sense want to come out but your blind loyalty won’t allow you to let it.

People are emotionally invested in O right now. Still in love with the “local boy does good / underdog / Cinderella Boy” narrative. Goal posts have been moved all over the place. Once Alabama kicks our butts a few more times they’ll be ready for a change.

Because he's winning below the average of the last coach and is being touted as having phenomenal seasons.

That last coach was fired by the way.

That's why.

Not one person is suggesting that.

Which makes the freaking out even more puzzling.

Again you continue to apply a set of criticisms to one coach and not to the other. In case you don’t know that is hypocrisy.

What are you smoking ? I thought expectations are pretty damn high.

Me? Our current coach finished middle of the pack in the SECW, and lost to Saban, Mullen, and Jimbo. And he is barely a season removed from a Troy St loss

How high are you based on that?

Have we become so accustomed to settling for 2nd and 3rd in the west

Crucify me for saying it, but I don't care. Lsu has a long and proven history of settling for mediocrity. 2003 and 2007 (and even 58) were an anomaly in an otherwise lengthy history of divisional 2nds and thirds, and a lot worse. IN GENERAL, the older the tiger fan, the more accepting of subpar results (emphasis on 'IN GENERAL').

I haven’t been paying attention obviously but where is this thread coming from? I have full faith that Woodward will do what needs to be done and won’t let others dictate the moves he makes. If that happens to be letting Orgeron gonif he underperforms this season, then so be it. But why on earth would anyone be doing anything but being happy at the news yesterday?

We just gave Orgeron a raise when it was stated that the whole reason we hired O was to spend money on assistants instead.

Yes, $75 million is a gamble. Worth if they win a championship, but it's a big risk.

Going back on the plan to give a raise to a coach who was hired on the premise that he WASN'T going to be expensive is equally ridiculous.

So now you’re haggling over a price tag that you’ll never have to pay. This is priceless.

Orgeron isn't destroying LSU like Jimbo did FSU, and doesn't make 7.5 million dollars.

Find a better coach.

Jimbo isn’t destroying LSU either. Again you’re using separate standards in order to push a personal agenda. 0 destroyed Ole Miss without giving them anything, at least Jimbo won titles at FSU. This talking point is ridiculous.
