Jimbo is 5-6 and 9-4 his last two years of coaching, I guess I’m in the minority, but that’s just not that impressive to me, and doesn’t seem like an upgrade.

“ not that impressive to me”
In his 1st yr in the state of Texas, he beat a more talented LSU, scored 23 vs Bama, loss by 2 vs college football NC team, came in 2nd in the West, and had a better recruiting ranking than LSU.
Seems fairly impressive for a 1st yr coach, but each to our own.

It's the whole premise of the thread. It's actually what the thread is about. You're in denial.
Re-read the OP. Slowly. He very clearly is questioning why anyone would get upset about the discussion of the possibility. Nowhere does he say Orgeron needs to be fired now.

Have you read through this entire thread?
Yep, been reading it since it was posted. Still waiting on those quotes.

you can't see reason for people to be "pumped" for next season?
I'm simply tired of being next year U. We haven't been this year U since 2011. And there are many fans that are still embarrassed by that performance. So all LSU fans haven't been this year U since 2007. That's over a decade ago. Over a decade of 'wait til next year'. It frankly sucks
But you can continue to play that game each year if you like, but I'm fairly confident that a HC that had zero offers, and a OC that had zero offers, and a 3rd string B1G QB transfer, and a first-time passing coordinator isn't going to get us there anytime soon

That's because you're brain damaged. This team is loaded and nobody was predicting big things out of last year's team except Homers. Most pundits had LSU at 7 wins. Does that sound like next year U to you. Being ignorant of something is not a sin but being willfully ignorant is stupid.

This is exactly the OP's point. This is the mentality that fans have sunk to. Orgeron is now in his 4th year, but its too early to measure his success? Yet …
Saban: took a team that was winless in the SEC and by Year 4 won it all. When only 2 teams were eligible.
Miles: took a BCS winning team and by Year 3 had won it all, and should have won a 2nd one in Year 7. When only 2 teams were eligible.
Orgeron: took over from two championship coaches, who had 3 teams in the championship, but hasn't even been hinted at to be in the playoffs. Despite 4 teams now being eligible.
Dabo: won his division in Year 4
Mahlzahn: SEC champ in Year 1
Jimbo: won his division in Year 3, the BCS in Year 4
Stoops: BCS champion in Year 2
Meyer: BCS champ in Year 2 at UF; BCS champ in Year 3 at OSU
Riley: playoffs in Year 1 & 2
Smart: playoffs in Year 2
Helfrich: playoffs in Year 2
Time to stop making excuses. Orgeron wins a title of some kind this year, or its time to move on. That is if you are still expecting an elite football program. Otherwise just admit to yourself that you've lowered your expectations. And Orgeron gets to stay as long as he wins 9 games each year.
This is the statistical reality of what I was saying in the OP. How many years of 'we comin' do we get to hear after 3-4 losses?
If he loses 3+ games again this year, hes proven he simply cannot break through the elite ceiling that a job like LSU demands. So why not allow Woodward to do for us what he did for A&M? Bring in a guy that immediately pushed past everyone but Saban?
Not waiting for 5 years down the road, or more

If O loses three games again, the odds of him being shitcanned skyrocket

Next year U, Ben. Like I said
Miles had an NFL QB, 3 NFL receivers, and several NFL defenders and still lost 3 games (twice). Talent wont win every game, if players are limited by a coach only looking for contract extensions

I’ve said all along 11-1 is the bar for success this season.
you can set the bar where ever you want. You don't count for shite. You do realize that we have only had one loss seasons twice in the last 50 years.

You know what else is not impressive? Jimbo is 4-4 against NC State while he was the Head coach at FSU. That's worse than going 4-4 against Mississippi State. He is currently 0-1 against the Bulldogs at A&M

Such a false narrative.
Most people would peg any LSU team in the 8-9 win category. O is a big enough stain, prior to this past year, for them to call it a 7 win season.
That was not due to talent, or the program, or what people actually thought would play out. That was simply the O bias. Nothing else.
How can you not see that? LSU hadn't won less than 8 games since what 99? Through all of the Miles years and the wild ride, we still never only won 7. That was O's effect on the rankings. So eclipsing that mark, read: not being a disaster, is not a huge accomplishment.
