Funny enough, he lost by half as many points (15) as O did in his first try (30)

Cute. You are justifying losses by the amount of points scored. You know who does what you just did? LOSERS! An L is an L. No one puts an asterisk by an L notating the margin of loss.

Here is something for you to chew on. The inferior O beat the Mississippi State team the great Jimbo couldn't manage to beat. Jimbo also lost to a crappy Auburn team. Yet, there again, the inferior O managed to beat Auburn.

I said up until this year.

It was acceptable and realistic to question O's leadership greatly until after the 2018 season. And if you think the 7 win predictions had nothing to do with that, I don't know what to tell you.

That was crystal clear. Regardless of Miles being the wacky head coach who eats grass and hires the Malveto monstrosity we won 8+ games throughout his tenure. We were not a dumpster fire when O took over, we were perfectly capable as a team of winning 8-9 games in a weaker than average SEC. Most pundits took a win off simply because of the O question mark "Would he step up?"

Thankfully he did to that point.

MANY fans wanted Jimbo gone when he was our OC.

Gosh, by golly, gee whiz, who on Earth would want that from a coach?

Obviously Woodward did. And hes our AD now, btw

It seems that by ragging on Jimbo, a lot of so called LSU fans are impugning the decisions of our new AD.

And "fans" like you have such disdain for Orgeron that you are hoping LSU fails. Wins luke the one over Georgia last fall sicken you.
This is ridiculous.

The Orgeron hire was an absolutely terrible hire from a logical standpoint. And still is to this day. But the narrative that LSU fans want LSU to fail is equally ridiculous. I hated the O hire personally, but my son and I enjoyed the frick out of kicking UGA's arse.

Damone is a solid poster from what I've witnessed. And truth hurts sometimes. No one thought O was a good hire at the time. If he ends up bringing us to SEC Championships and Playoffs, that's what we want and expect.

Point being, O is our coach and needs to deliver. We all hope he does.

If not, we finally have an AD with enough authoritah! to deliever elite results.

The OP of this thread is yhe dumbest post I have ever seen.

In real estate the mantra is location, location, location... In CFB it should be timing, timing, timing! Nobody in their right mind would fire a coach with the program on an uptick and in the preseason CFP discussion. Also this is the wrong time of year to fire a coach, build a staff, and salvage a recruiting class. Nobody of any salt would take such a job.

Fortunately, SW is smarter than that but obviously some of the posters here are not. If CEO shits the bed then let it roll but for know we play this hand.

You guys are whipping yourselves up into a frenzy over something that has never been proposed. Not a single person is saying that the football coach needs to be fired.

But by all means, keep thinking that.

What have you seen that suggests a 75m contract to a guy who was coming off a 5-6 season is a good idea?

I know you have selective memory, but the terms were widely mocked here and elsewhere.

So, you think Woodward made a bad decision?

Why do you think he did it?

You said you liked the hire. Why would you have confidence in someone that you feel made such a poor decision?

Time will tell, but the odds are so. A 75 million single party buyout for a guy who left his former team in shambles seems pretty bad on the surface.

But A$M was silly enough to approve

He also brought that team a NC. Why do you leave that part out?

If I buy a Lamborghini, it's a horrible purchase.

If Bill Gates buys a Lamborghini, it's inconsequential to him.

Context matters brother. If you want a guy and no one else will do and you have practically unlimited resources, there's no price too high to pay.

Gene Chiziks been there. Want him?

Both has phenoms at QB.

A NC doesn't give you lifetime cred. Ask Larry Coker

Woodward paying Jimbo $75 million is eminently more defensible than Alleva even hiring O

And TAMU was in rougher shape than LSU at the time of hire.

wasnt that bad. Secondary and LB positions were the only weak spots. They had a lot more offensive talent.

2019 will be bad though, they lose a lot of talent. Jimbo will do good to go 9-4
