That leafs me to believe Mulkeys threat had some effect. Probably won't kill the story but has made their lawyers want to vette everything one more time.

Or they're waiting for a potential matchup with Iowa to drop the story a couple hours before tip.

It was never said that the story was dropping today, let alone a specific time today.

The timeline was always (intentionally) nebulous.

I thought they said it was coming out tuesday.

Obviously timed for the sweet 16, which is why Mulkey is so pissed.

WaPo no longer cares about vetting anything. It's clear what the motive is. Regardless of any lawsuit they just want to take their pound of flesh and publicly humiliate Mulkey.

The story will be dropped when it will have maximum impact. Dropping it today gives a chance for it blow over before our next game.

I would assume it drops the morning of the sweet 16 game.

EDIT: I take that back. It likely drops on the day of the first Sweet 16 media availability for Mulkey.

The guy you're responding to didn't make the thread.

You sound like you know what the story is and that it has no legitimacy. You suggest that it is being published solely to obtain a "pound of flesh".
You must know a whole lot that the rest of us do not.
Please tell us what the story is and how you know it has no factual basis.

I never understand how people respond to someone and expect anyone to know they weren't talking to the guy they responded to. It's like making eye contact with a person but talking to someone else off to the side.

It's the Washington Post. Remember the Sandman kid? They had a video that clearly showed their story to be false and they ran with it anyway. Not incorrect, incorrect can happen even with good intentions. They knew their story to be false. Today's WAPO deserves no benefit of the doubt.
