I have DTV and I don't remember being able to catch the alternate channel. Trying to figure out how I'm gonna be able to watch the game. My internet will more than likely be down because of the Storm so that's probably not an option.

I think your good as long as you got sec network. When the game comes on they will show it and then when it’s over there is nothing on the channel unless another game is suppose to be on the alt channel.

Yes. I watched a game - not sure which - last weekend on it. It’s 611-1. Works fine.

If you have the directv app for your phone/iPad, etc you can watch it in the app. If it’s in your subscription package, it’ll be on your app.

SLING sports pack includes SEC+ I always return to Sling during football season. By the way, you can try Sling for free for three days.

I believe you can use the ESPN app on roku, apple tv, firestick etc. with your Directv credentials to stream the alternate channel

I know in the Hammond area the SEC channel is 611 and the alternate channel is 611-1.
99.9% it is not in use and it has the the direct tv logo appearing, but this year it has been in use the last two weekends due to two games being played at the same time or if one game runs over the other game will start on the alternate channel.

I know, but I won't have internet after the storm passes.

Watched State vs Ark last Sat night on Directv CH 611-1 SEC Alt Channel. Genearally if a game is scheduled ahead of time for the SEC Alt channel you can watch it on Directv. If they put a game on the Alt channel at the last minute because a game is running long on the main SEC channel you never get it on Directv.

Looking like I'll be listening to Chris Blair for this one. Hopefully a couple bars will be open

Ahhhh, that makes sense. That's what I'm thinking about, I remember going to the alt channel to catch the beginning of a game and it wasn't on there.

I think Directv has to free up some bandwidth to make the Alt channel active. The aren't set up to just switch the Alt channel on for 15 minutes because the SEC Network game is running over.

As stated, the DTV channel for SECN-alt is 611-1. It does not currently list this game yet, but it may do so before game time. At any rate, you'll have a blank screen with the DTV logo on the screen until game time. Then, the game will come on, much like the NFL Ticket.

One other thing: If you have the standard DTV remote like I do, you may not be able to just dial it up. I haven't been able to do so directly. Instead, just go to your favorite channels programming and include it in your favorites. That way, it'll come up in the info channel page and you can scroll until it comes up.

I honestly don't know if the SEC Alt channel will show up on YouTube TV but you can login to the ESPN app with your YouTube TV credentials and watch it there.

I watched some of the Ark and State game last weekend also and had no issues. It was one channel above 611 on DTV. It said that morning what game was playing. You don't get anything on that channel until right before game time. If you have the SEC channel it'll work. I watched some of the game at my house on DTV and some at the end at my neighbors who had Comcast and both networks caught the game with no issues.
