is the game a night game? I haven’t looked. If so, those are really fun.
If you haven’t been to Athens for a game, I highly recommend it.

Still TBA on the game time. I've been to Athens for basketball and baseball, but not football, even though I'm only an hour away, so I really should.

Great atmosphere
This hands down. Seeing that eagle fly around the stadium in person doesn't compare to watching it on television.

One of the better away game atmosphere. Hospitable folks and great tailgating.

Auburn is twice the atmosphere and twice as hospitable

This is true, which is quite unlike other SEC rival towns (Florida is the worst).

Auburn is a beautiful stadium and campus, the town is clean and quiet compared to other SEC college towns, and they got the best barbecue in the SEC (better even than College Station!)

Would this be a better venue to attend than Florida? Both would be about equal distance for us.

Small sample size, but take this for what it’s worth.

Auburn is great. People are really nice. Worked with an Aubie and she was one of the nicest people you’d ever meet. I went to an LSU-Auburn game and it was a great experience.

Never been to Florida but I’ve never talked to anyone who’s had a good experience there. And I worked with a couple of Florida grads and they were the biggest assholes you could meet.

It’s fun and the people are generally nice (nicer than we are to guests ??.)

I went every time between 2002 and 2014–7 trips. (My in-laws live fairly close.)

Been there for several games and always had a great time. Real good college town. Has a small hometown feel to it. Like every college experience you're going to have a few less than friendly fans. That's the exception and not the norm. Love the traditions that are unique to each University. It's part of what makes College Football such a special sport. Toomer's corner and the flight of the Eagle are just a couple. Like any place, if you go in looking for a great time you'll find it. I'd recommend the trip. I'll be making a few more trips this year. Just moved my daughter in at Auburn last Monday.

As for the difference between Bama and Auburn ... on the average people go to Bama because of all the hype and it's popular. People go to Auburn because they really want to go to AU and truly love the University. Auburn students and Alum are very family oriented.

Bama has a great tailgating experience and honestly there are a few more similarities between LSU and Bama fan bases than either side would want to admit. The sidewalk alumni and fans are what you would expect. A little more rough edged, chip on their shoulder. The true fans and alumni are fun people. Again, you'll find what you're looking for. One thing you'll find for sure is a ton of people on gameday. Place is jam packed. It's a solid college game experience. They've done a great job with that stadium. Just be prepared to hear Roll Tide in response to every statement and every question.

Went to the LSU - Florida game in 1996. We got crushed. The fans, people that worked concessions, the ushers, ticket takers, everyone were complete dicks. Couldn't get anything but a couple of soft drinks at half time because "they ran out" of what we wanted. Had a couple of fans try to start a fight with us. Just sat there and ignored their antics. Even a 6 year old kid sitting with his parents throwing insults at us. One person, just one, was nice. Old guy with a cane approached us as we were walking out of the stadium and said he saw everything that went on and apologized for our experience.

It may have changed since then, but based on my experiences with UF fans since that time, I doubt it. Horrible game experience. Been there done that. No reason to ever return to Gainesville. It's a terrible place if you're a visiting fan. There are plenty of far better experiences out there. Spend your sporting dollars somewhere else.

For some reason I’ve always felt the east division teams have a much better road game experience.

Athens, Knoxville and Lexington are great places to travel to.

Like other people have stated I have been to the lsu/Auburn game at Auburn 5-6 times mainly because one of my best friends from JC baseball is an Auburn graduate.
Ever trip has been awesome and all the Auburn fans have treated us wonderful.
I can’t say enough of how much fun that trip is.

It can get very loud as well. Great game day atmosphere.

Went in '94, '96 and '98. Fans are very nice. Place is super loud. 3 great trips except for j. howard's 5 INT's in '94. That was soooo brutal.
