Auburn is fine. Stadium is so so.

2nd favorite road trip behind Georgia.

2002
Everything about that game was awful. Worst road trip game ever.

Auburn is a great location for a football game. Easy to walk around.
You can buy a game day parking pass.
The Skybar near Toombers corner is one of the better close to campus day game bars.

Not a bad trip but traffic after '08 Jarrett Lee put the dagger in the plainsmen's hearts was horrendous

Please tell me you weren't there for the bogus Ronnie Prude leaping penalty in'04?

Auburn is a nice, quaint campus. Those weirdos truly love Auburn. Jordan Hare gets impressively loud. I’ve been to 3 games there. Wins and losses. Also went to jail once. Will be making the trip again

I've been twice. Jordan-Hare is a great place to see a football game. Intense atmosphere. The live eagle circling the stadium is probably the coolest tradition I've experienced in college football.
We crashed at a friend of a friend's, and they took us to a party at the trailer park near campus. A lot of people. It was a good time. They were very hospitable. Compared to how I was accustomed to treating guests at the time, they rolled out the red carpet for us.

I went to the 41-7 beat down and still enjoyed myself. Until the game started. It is a cool road trip, easy to park and decent bars in the Toomers Corner area to hang out pre-game.

Are we thinking night game this year?
Would think Bama @ Ark would be the 2:30 CBS game

After they lose, its pretty dull. Traffic in/out sucks.

Hey Tiger fans!
I think this is the best year to visit Auburn. Auburn has a number of dining options near campus but there are some new noteworthy options near campus which should be great for visitors:
The new food hall across campus (between AU hotel and the new hotel) will offer lots of dining options including Burgers, Pizza, Tacos, Cuban Sandwiches, Poke, Asian street food, Italian Ice cream, etc. It will be open to the public for lunch and dinner (including weekends) starting next week.
The new downtown Publix supermarket will open in a few weeks and is located next to campus (currently there is only a CVS near campus).
There is also some additional new dining options near campus incl Whataburger, new coffee shops, etc…and the new downtown Target will likely open next semester. Currently, two additional downtown hotels are u/c (Marriott, Graduate Hotels) which should be interesting for future visits.
I hope this helps.

I'm only one state away, but I've only ever done that trip for baseball, never for football. Thinking about pulling the trigger this year, how have your experiences on the Plains been?

There are a lot of positive comments in this thread, but my experience lined up with yours. Their fans were awful both times I went, both inside and outside the stadium. Got a full cup of rum and coke thrown me by some drunk a-hole while marching back to the bus lot after the win there in 96. That was a really sticky ride back to BR, but the good guys won and our fans literally burned shite down that night, so it was a small price to pay.
I hate UF and Ole Piss more, but I will never go back to Auburn, either. It sounds like things have changed since the 90s, but I don’t care.

Yeah I had a great time when we went to Bama. Ran into an a-hole or two of course but the overwhelming majority of people were good sports about it
They’ve already got a pretty awesome set up leading up to the stadium. All the bars just sort of funnel towards the stadium so it makes it easy to see everything before a game.

Does anybody know where the team generally stays? I have two hotels reserved in Montgomery, one downtown and one off the interstate on the way to Auburn, so trying to figure out which to keep. We’ll have kids with us, so if there’s a chance to see the team at the hotel, they’d probably enjoy that.
