20 years from now someone is going to suggest trying a freshman QB and some idiot is going to bring up Jarrett Lee. Maybe, Jarrett Lee just didn't have it. There are plenty of freshman QBs to start for other teams and be successful or learn from their mistakes and progress. The Jarrett Lee excuse is such a lame and lazy excuse to not play a freshman QB.

I just dont see anything that Etling does that Brennan couldn't do in his sleep. Just make the damn switch and put Etling on the sideline with a clipboard where he belongs. The kid just doesnt belong as a starting qb in the SEC. Brennan can come in and start for the Syracuse and Troy games and be ready to roll. DO IT.

Yup. Since Jarrett Lee didnt play good as a freshman LSU can NEVER play a freshman qb ever again. Bama went to the damn national championship game with a true freshman qb.. Florida State won the natty with a RSFreshman.. throw Brennan in there and lets run a fricking offense.

How can you say that? He's the least talented starting QB in the SEC. Yes he's a good guy and works hard but he doesn't scare defenses. He is not a threat in any part of the game.

Oline talent, dline depth, and youth are the problems. I just want the better qb to play. Etling cant win us games. I believe Brennan can make throws that Etling cant.

Exactly!
The fact that it was even a competition shows how much more talent he has. He's been in the system longer now. This is a great game to begin the era.

I don't necessarily like the two quarterback system but I would use it for the next two games.

The best part is most people slammed Miles for his conservative play calling after 2008 which most people speculated was due to "ruining" Lee. Now, those same people are doing the same thing they accused Miles of doing.

Yeah just something to inject some energy and excitement into the team. Remember when Harris went out and Etling came in and he could actually complete a forward pass? Remember how exciting that was? Imagine a crazy talented gunslinger with a cannon for an arm come in and do even better? I mean why not? Its Syracuse and Troy.

Blocking is not the right answer. You have to create schemes that play around your team's strengths and weaknesses. If the OL is weak why not having a moving OL line that protects the QB in passing situations?

I don't know if he is going to be better, but I noticed in the Chattanooga game that he was slower than Etling.

Brennan's quick release can neutralize the pass rush. A lot of that pressure Saturday is because Etling hesitates getting rid of the ball. He can't pull the trigger. Every throw has been late with the exception of the gage drop.

What's there to lose. His fundamentals are sound, he is mobile in the pocket and seems to feel the pressure even from his back side. Give the kid some confidence. LSU has nothing to lose. Brennan is the future.

Exactly, Etling needs to start. He hit some receivers and they failed. He had no blocking at all. He was accurate the first 2 games when he had some time to throw. However, you put in Brennan in the 3rd offensive series and lets see how he does. Let him have 3 meaningful series in the game. Also, bring in a Wildcat package for Narcisse but let him sling it while rolling right on the first play. No one will expect throw- that is when you throw

And you think they did that BECAUSE of their QB play? Hurts is horrible. He's a good runner but that's all he really has. We have no good running QB on the roster that is anywhere near ready to be playing. LN ain't ready. Kid hasn't played football in two years.
He was also playing behind Bamas Oline. Our Oline is NOTHING compared to Bamas.
