We don’t know which of the two black guys knocked the first one out or what the circumstance was. I said he could be charged with manslaughter it we don’t know.
The other dude, when you opponent is on his knees and you continue with the haymakers to the head, that’s a battery. Even though the dude got up and the cops fought him to keep him down, you can’t continue beating the crap out of the guy when he’s down and call it self defense.

The last punch is the bad one. We only see three punches. On the first one, the guy in purple is actively trying to get up towards him and that punch (in my opinion) is what most people would do in that situation. The second punch is questionable while the guy is still trying to get up but he’s slowed obviously. The third punch is delivered as the guy appears to have given up. But considering the guy in yellow did stop at that point and the fact that the guy on his knees is still fighting the cops and took multiple people to get him cuffed, does anyone think he’d have stopped willingly? He looks as if he’d keep trying to fight until he was unconscious or cuffed which is what happened.

You get punched a few times and someone grabs you from behind and see if you don’t think it’s the guys friends trying to hurt you more. Was most likely loopy and was trying to defend himself and was too out of it to realize it was a cop. Just like UFC fighters who get rung and try to tackle the ref. It happens.

Nope. The actions of the police on the scene and the words from the crowds indicate the drunks were the instigators.
Could the black guys be charged for excessive beat down on a down victim, yes. But none of the elements of a hate crime exist here.
