And the SEC was a complete shite show that year... LSU was the SEC champs and got a fricking 8 seed in the same bracket as #1 UNC... I think 3 SEC teams got in

He was white knighting for JJ at the end of his last season when LSU was playing like shite. His JJ thread might have set a downvote record.

I remember that.

I don't even think he was trolling. Or was he?

Daryljames has been white knighting for JJ for as long as I can remember. Even up to last season.

Dude is a complete fricking moron

Yeah, I saw that too.

But the guy I'm thinking about is the guy mentioned by someone earlier in this thread, I think chinyohang, or something like that.

I was a freshman in college when Johnny was a senior, so loved having an LSU guy running the show. But in college, he was a mediocre back up. As a coach, I would say he was the same. I just can't stand coaches that stare and show no emotion when their team is getting the shite beaten out of them.

This is just another example of how critical coaching is.

I'd say recruiting has more to do with it than coaching.

Yeah . Wade has done a better job recruiting. Be happy. Johnny is long gone. But we know the real issue.

Trent Johnson takes that honor IMO. At least JJ could half-arse recruit.

He was a good ball player but a terrible coach....he never should have come back to LSU
his last year in baton rouge the players just gave up on him and it showed...plus he had little talent to work with

There's no need to keep dragging JJ through the mud, he didn't work out and Wade is on a different level. Anyone with eyes can see that, no need to keep rehashing.

Trent could coach. He won an SEC title with Brady’s guys. He could’t recruit or manage a roster though

Funny thing about Jones is that he wins everywhere but LSU. He was bad. Johnson was worse.

Why do we need to keep dredging him and his tenure up? We are in a really, really good spot right now.

This is probably just a NeverO looking for another way to get some LSU coach bashing going. Why worry about JJ with all of the positives surrounding WW and our talented and fun-to-watch men’s basketball team???

Did JJ have this many All Americans on one team?

Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones were two halves of a great coach. Trent was great with x’s and o’s, but couldn’t recruit Jimmie’s and Joe’s. Johnny had the opposite problem. If they had teamed up, they might come close to equalling one Will Wade.

Fake news. He won 1 regular season sun belt title in 11 years at north Texas and is 9-11 this year. He should have never been hired by LSU.

Maybe you think 91-89 sun belt record is winning though.
