Anyone else worried that Myles Brennan will never stay healthy in the SEC?

I’d have a very difficult time investing heavily in him at this point. Trust in him holding up just not there. He is not athletic enough to avoid being squared up and obliterated on the run and a qb who is shy to run will keep us off schedule constantly with negative plays. Nothing like 2nd and 17’s and 3rd and 11’s to lose ballgames, taking sacks like you read about.

Just a pick your poison scenario that I’d personally rather see us avoid. I’d also rather see the young man have a chance at footballing success after all of his time and effort, no shame in going to a place where that is possible.

He fought off the supernatural, the ghosts that shoved him down the stairs and the old Civil War generals, in full regalia, that stood over his bed watching him sleep. No, really, his mom said: The property — the one she’s standing on right now, on this sun-splashed Wednesday — is haunted, and the house was, too.

Nah.

He gets a decent O line, he'll be fine.

He's had so much time in the system, I'm not worried.

I worry he doesn’t trip over his own feet and snap his arm. Lol.

At least there are capable qbs on the roster now

The system is brand new bud.

I know that. Just like it was brand new last season and the year before that and the year before that.

My point is that he's been with the team for what seems to be forever.

He was involved with the QBs last season even though he couldn't play. He was involved the year before that when he got injured at Missouri. Before that he was involved with Burrow as far as the system is concerned. He's seen a lot of different "systems."

I'm not worried about him understanding the 'new' system and I think he'll do well. I think he is smart and understands what's taught to him. He's now seen several things by a few different coaches and can know what to do and what not to do.

I think Myles pocket awareness really improved over the course of the few games in 2020 he played. If he can survive a few games and continue to improve on that, he will be fine.

One freak injury does not mean he is made of glass, but we won’t know until he gets another chance.

Brennan is not a runner but neither is he a statute. That gets overplayed. It probably just as likely that a QB that runs often would get hurt.

That may be a problem but 3rd and 17. We got this.

As long as we have a healthy and decent backup, no.

What about 2 freak injuries? Is that a concern?

This post is symbolic of the stupidity that shows up this time of year and escalates until the first game.

Uh wut? What system are you talking about? He’s had like 5 OCs in 6 years.

He doesn’t even wear a headset when he’s not playing. I think you’re confusing being a good guy with being a good teammate or leader.

I'd say 99.9% of LSU fans don't spend time worrying that Brennan will never stay healthy.

He may get hurt again, but I don't worry about it.

I’m not worried with Daniels backing him up if in fact Myles wins the job.

Not worried. We need to look at the context of those injuries. 2 years ago he voluntarily collided with a defender and had a weird ab injury. Last year he tripped on his flip flop and was out before the season even started. If he’s just doesn’t do anything stupid then we’ll be fine. We have legit depth too just in case.

was always a 'God I can't watch' moment for the LSU defense. It was like being on repeat even in different games because the results were always bad.
