Anyone else really like the dual QB system for us?

I really like the use of both QBs like we did in the bowl game, maybe not every series but if our Offensive line can do it, it makes us really difficult to prepare for. I would put both in the huddle too and make opponents guess on who is playing when. I bet you could make them burn a bunch of time outs doing this as well.
Each has very different skill sets

I’d be ok with it, because they are both talented and I don’t want Nuss to transfer. He has enormous potential!

It’s better than Jayden solo.

We did pretty good with one QB this season winning the West and going to the championship in year one I think we should stick to that.

No we should play the best QB. This year it was clearly JD5. Maybe next year it won’t be.

It makes it really difficult for the defense to prepare for both each week.

I'm normally against a two QB system, but that's because normally both QBs suck. These two are both good. I'd like to use both, and whomever gets the most snaps can be predetermined, based on what opponent we face each week. Also, JD could specialize in the redzone while Nuss specializes between the 20s. It offers a whole new dimension and complexity to the offense.

I like it when the offense is struggling … Nuss can provide a spark and push Daniels to be better.

I don’t know. I don’t see many/any dual QB systems in college football today.
But …. LSU has done it in the past, right? Didn’t Rohan Davy and Josh Booty split time in the late 90’s?
How’d that work out? Has CBK ever done that at Notre Dame?

It wasn’t a system. It was auditions in a 2nd tier bowl game.

Yes I liked it.
JD is fast and just enough of a passing threat to keep defense honest
Nuss can spin it. Quickest release I’ve seen in a while

I don’t prefer it, but unless/until either Daniels or Nuss can fix some of their deficiencies, it may be the best solution. It can be done and can be successful handled properly.
Our QBs do offer very different looks and strengths and that can put stress on a defense when applied correctly, but it’s better to have an unquestioned star QB. Neither is that today unless Daniels can develop a consistent deep ball and Nuss can get on track to average less than a pick per game for a season.

As I said in the game thread, I'm usually against the 2-qb approach. But with two guys that have such different skill sets, it really could keep the defense off-balance if done right.

I don’t really know — but I “feel” like …. a QB needs game time experience, and needs to have the entire game “on his shoulders” to mature and get better?
I think JD would be fine with a Dual QB system, might thrive.
But, Nuss? Would he progress splitting game time reps with another QB?
I don’t know — interesting question.

The last time we had dual QBs by design was in the 80’s with Hodson and Guidry. It actually worked well. As I recall, Guidry would play in a series in the 2nd quarter, and then also later. Their styles weren’t that dissimilar.
I think dual QBs with Daniels and Nuss would work well; they have totally different styles. Opposing defenses would have to scheme for both, and there’s only so much practice time per week. If one QB gets hurt or is having a bad game, we’ve got it covered.
