We did pretty good with one QB this season winning the West and going to the championship in year one I think we should stick to that.

How many year would 2 conf losses win the west?
It's like you people forgot we lost 4 games this past season.

Harder to prepare for yada yada, but let’s be honest. Just like this year, there will be a couple games our passing game isn’t working and that’s the weakness of the defense or they are stacking the box.
Instead of yelling at the QB all game he can do it on the sideline for a series or two.

One other advantage of a two QB system is that is keeps another guy locked into your program for at least a season. This worked at Michigan last year. Rather than sit a guy like McCarthy for a season and risk him leaving, they handled the situation well, made the playoffs, kept him, and then made them again with him as the starter.

It may not be ideal in all cases, but I bet we see dual QB systems more often going forward to promote stability in the NIL-Portal Era.

Well, when the coaching staff telegraphs run like they did every single time Perrillouix went into the game...I kinda got the feeling they weren't usually going to let him air it out, rather qb run here we go.. so if it does go to a 2 QB type system I trust CBK will be able to try and work around that issue.

I liked how they used to use Mickey Guidry when Tommy Hudson was the starter. He would normally get one series a half. Sometimes 2 sometimes none just depends how the game was going. I just always thought it was good to give the started a different look at the game. Plus it makes the defense prepare for both.

Worked out well with Perriloux especilly because he was ready when we needed him in the SEC championship game

Also a good point. Especially true for us since Daniels didn’t finish 3 games this season and barely made it through the A&M game. Hopefully a more effective running game with the backs will take load off of him, but the wear of the SEC season definitely caught up with him.

No matter what Daniels’ role is next season, he needs someone ready to step in with the way he plays QB. a 2 QB system would ensure that.

I watched the Hodson/Guidry format, and liked it then.

It can work.

I like it, it brings 2 different approaches by the QB’s and could be hard or at least a lot to game plan for. With both guys getting playing time, you can have 2 experienced QB’s in case one would be injured. We’ll have to see if BK will try this or not.

When the playoffs go to 12 teams how many more games must the final two play. Qualified backups especially QB, running backs will be at a premium for those teams that want to compete

I have confidence it would be handled better, BK isn’t Miles.

The thing about using both of them is that, like others in this thread have said, they have complementary styles.

Daniels is so electric with the ball in his hands, you really get tempted to explore using both of them at the same time. Stand them next to each other in the shotgun and the defense will have no idea what to defend. Put Daniels in motion and anything can happen.

Those two passes Nabers threw yesterday, Daniels can throw.

Denbrock can get super-creative with assets like that. We should stop thinking of the QB room as a controversy and start looking at it as a lethal weapon.

Hopefully we can teach Nuss to run more and JD to pass more. Either way JDs last year so Nuss needs real game experience to prepare and I was stunned JD was able to play all the games this year. This will end the stack the box bullshite, plus as a bonus will drive Nick nuts

Have them stand next to each other and have the center snap it to one of them then have that one hand the ball off to the other one who would then drop into the pocket to throw a pass or take off running while the other one becomes a blocker for him and then maybe slips out for a pass. We could run some never before seen type offenses with both quarterbacks in the Huddle every play. A good OC could get very creative with this. Defenses would never know what the hell was going on. It would be a true dual quarterback system with dual quarterbacks on practically every play.

This is LSU. We don’t need any gimmicks or tricks to win championships. Pick a QB that can throw and is mobile enough and be done with it. We don’t need prime Mike Vick

I remember Florida winning a national championship doing it with Tebow and Leak. I think Leak was his name...

UF’s natty team in 2006 is often referenced as a 2-QB system, but it’s not really true.

Check the stats. Chris Leak threw 92% of UF’s passes that season and then you still have to account for the passes Tebow threw in mop-up duty as backup in the blowout games.

Tebow threw maybe 5 meaningful passes that entire season. His role would be better described as part of a special short-yardage package than as part of a 2-QB system.

Ask the QBs if they like it.
