No. CB is a concern but this is only our first game and it is non-conference game. This will be our biggest test of the year. I think we are much better than last year this time.

Anyone else getting nervous?

No interested to see if LSU improved in these particular areas of their game vs. FSU.

vs. FSU on Offense, LSU converted less than half of their 3rd down opportunities @ 5-11.

vs. FSU on Defense, LSU gave up 11-17 3rd down conversions & seems like a lot of them were long 3rd downs as well. <-- Demoralizing! LSU lost the turnover battle too thanks to S.T.

vs. FSU on Special Teams, LSU gave up a season's worth of free stuff no way this happens again!

I expect a better outcome 100%

FWIW: vs. Bama in the OT win. LSU's defense held them to 6-16 on 3rd down and won the turnover battle with one interception.

Rewatched last years FSU game last week.

We gave that game away and FSU really had no business winning it.

Not too nervous at all heading into this year's matchup.

Not nervous but hoping the coaches have everyone ready to execute from the opening kick. If we do that we should dominate. It’s been too common of a sight watching slow starts and playing down to other teams’ levels. Want to see an end to that.

I’m getting Wisconsin 2016 vibes. Our DBs is concerning.

They scored 16 pts. It’s going to be a good game. But I don’t think our offense will be pathetic like 2016.

I still have tiny tadpoles of concern whether JD5 can decipher a defense? If he lays an egg against FSU, this will probably be a long season.

Defensive backfield is another concern. No way to know what will happen as usual.

You mean the guy that had 5+:1 TD:INT ratio last year?

I don’t know where this narrative comes from, Daniels main issue is trust in the tight windows/throws. Otherwise he’s lights out both throwing and running.

ETA: Dude was pushing towards 70% completion rate, 3000 yards passing, 900 yards rushing, and 2 TDs shy of 30 total. Decipher a defense.

How is this even close to 2016 Wisconsin.

#5 ranking with high expectations taking on a quality P-5 opponent at a “neutral” site that happens to be in the opponent’s state.

I won't get nervous until Coach tells me I'll be playing in the game. Until then I'll just enjoy the ride.

So many amazing statisticians on the Rant. More's the pity as none seem able to draw a proper inference. If one cared to look at the play of JD5 on each down, it would be difficult to conclude that he was very comfortable in the pocket. This is supported, of course, by his relatively good completion percentage and his low ypa, but you already knew that. His overall statistics, as with many other QBs, do not paint the complete or maybe not even an accurate assessment of his ability to play the position. As I said, if he has a poor pya against FSU, I will have seen all I need to see of JD5. It will be time to consider seriously other options at QB. Also, if he leads the team in rushing, you can bet the rent money LSU will not be in the playoff picture.

Questions?

exactly. nobody said he had shite stats. it is when you actually watch games and break it down you see where he HAS to improve. that is all we are saying. i for one hope JD lights it up and wins the heisman and a natty. then i want NUSSbalm coming behind him and winning a natty.
