I feel like I’m watching a 5th grade boys basketball game with miss after miss after miss. I support the lady tigers and have watched a few games this year, but dammit, it’s frustrating. The Arkansas game was exciting. Most of them are snooze fests.

Are you sure you weren't at the men's game?

It’s because in general, it’s just bad basketball. Even good women’s basketball is full of missed gimme layups and air balls.

I’ll still give them credit and I’ll still watch the important games, but watching weekly is difficult.

Agree.

I’m more of a women’s softball guy. And any sport they’re barely wearing clothes.

LSU shot 40% for the game...not great but not horrible. And did so against the best defensive team in the nation.

And SC shot 57% form the field.

So this game wasn't "miss after miss after miss".

This is how I feel.

It was crazy watching the broadcasters go nuts over a girl blocking a shot and talking about how tall she is and how you shouldn't challenge her. The shot was an underhanded scoop layup that the girl blocked at her waist.

I think all college basketball is a pretty terrible product.

March Madness is fun as shite because of the chaos overload, but watching a men's regular season college basketball game where you have no rooting interest could be classified as torture. Watching a women's game would be even worse.

To be fair, you can say this about men’s basketball too. College basketball, even at the highest level, in general is just bad basketball.

Doesn’t mean it’s not fun to watch at times especially in the tournament.

That’s kinda where I’m at honestly. I’ll watch the big games, and I freaking LOVE Kim Mulkey, but I ain’t boutta watch every damn game

I feel its being refereed by 5th grade boys basketball refs.

That made it extremely hard to watch.

I get excited every year at the start of basketball season and watch a bunch of games I have no dog in the fight, but over the course of the season the officiating completely saps my interest in non-LSU games and LSU saps my interest in LSU games. Right now I probably won't watch another basketball game until conference tournaments.

I disagree. Well coached, sharp shooting teams like Bama (yack) are fun af to watch.

It's also more than there is ZERO parity. At the max there's 3 times and everyone else. Today it's 1 team and everyone else. There's no suspense.

To be fair, the men miss a lot of shots too. Shooting, as a whole, is not great in college basketball. Much of that is because the mid-range jumper is considered to be a "bad" shot now, so you have a lot of guys taking 3's who shouldn't be, along with a lot of tough shots at the rim.

The women's game is a "completely below the rim" game. That's why to you have more jump shots and, as a byproduct, more missed jumpshots.

Personally, I will never be able to get into the game largely BECAUSE it is a "below the rim game". There are not many explosive, highlight, plays because the athleticism is just not the same. You don't have a lot of player who can really break others down one-on-one. When the bottom of the backboard is a real threat to be a leading shot blocker in the game, and THIS is a highlight play where neither player is more than 8 inches off the ground, it's just not exciting to me. Of course, that doesn't mean others shouldn't watch if they find it exciting...it's just that I don't.

I find it more odd that numerous people feel the need to make this exact thread after every single girls game.

We get it. You don’t like it. It’s not like the men. We know jackass. That’s why they don’t play each other.

But as a dad of girls who play bball, who watches LSU and high school girls bball too all the time, this constant whining is really weird and tiresome.

Just dont watch. And then pass by the threads about the womens team. Isn’t it beneath you anyway? Why stoop? Keep that nose up and move along.

It’s just attention whoring at this point.

And there's only a handful of good shooting teams.

NBA is much more enjoyable in that sense. The games aren't a slog because of the zone and they aren't laying bricks from deep.

It’s funny because I felt better Sunday watching the LSU women field a more competent and coherent offense than I did Saturday night watching the LSU men brick shot after shot until the last 10 minutes of the game. The first half of the LSU men’s game Saturday night was some of the worst basketball I’ve ever seen in my life, and that includes high school basketball.

Men are more athletic than women. No shite. Expecting more is like expecting high school football to resemble the NFL.

But good women’s basketball is still a good product.
