Pitching will be good. Evans, Schmidt, Paz, likely 2 transfers.

Gonna have to round up some offense in the portal.

ETA: I have no clue how a lockout would impact minor leagues if at all.

The MLBPA represents minor leaguers in the newest CBA so a lockout would likely suspend minor league ball as well

I feel like people forget which players were transfers over the years. This is just a wild thing to say. The portal has been the catalyst for two championships lol.

Not at all. But saying we have to go find two high quality starting pitchers from the portal is a lot easier said than done.

Dont see him dominating guys this year nearly as much

He is.

He's 5th in the conference in strikeouts. Control has been a problem at times. He just hasn't put it all together.

My point isn't that he's having a dominant year. Obviously, has hasn't. It's that his stuff is good enough to be top of the SEC. And, that's true.

Everyone (that was paying attention) knew that there were questions with the starters.

Yeah, but I did think our pen would be way deeper/better than it has been.

Honestly, I bet we have are above .500 in the SEC by a couple games if our fielding hasn't been such dogshit as well. That's crazy and stings a lot.

I think our pitching and hitting will get hotter at the end of the year, but we're in too far a hole that could've been prevented with stellar defense.

Obviously he's an elite prospect and one of the main reasons he withdrew from the draft out of high school was to show he could add some power to his game.

This was true because he was projected to slip to the 3rd round. Power or not, he’s now projected to go in the top half of the first round. Maybe top 10. He’s gone, as he should be.

Better draft eligible soph prospects have returned to school at lsu in the past. I wouldn’t write it off

Were any of those projected to go in the Top 10-15 of Round 1? If so, who?

Evans is not draft eligible. Curiel has done nothing to hurt his draft status this season.

I hope Jay gets the money he needs to compete in the portal and with some recruits. The info I heard was that the portal players Jay wanted he lost because he was outbid. You shouldn't need to beg for resources (not saying Jay is) if you've won 2 out of the last 3 national titles.

I’d go after at least two high end pitchers just in case. If there even is multiple elite level pitchers in the portal that is.

Recruiting services project based on lots of measureables but seeming one of them is not “throwing strikes”
