Anyone else concerned about LSU’s running game?

Brossette is decent, but after him, who?

The fact that Burrow had to call his own number so many times late in yesterday’s game is alarming.

This isn’t usually an area of concern for us, but I would say it is this year.

Somewhat, but more game reps and cohesion from the o line should get the ball rolling. Also, Auburn’s D is no slouch

At times it’s frustrating watching us getting the running game going.. not sure if it’s the scheme, the blocking, or the fact that all of us are used to Fournette/Guice

Fact the JB called his own number may have been game plan strategy, to appear LSU had no answers. Then, quick! Strike like a snake, get that TD, pull within 2, then either make the conversion or hold, and one more possession for the win.

Auburn has a great front 7 and running stopping defense. I'm not concerned with the run offense at all after yesterday. The stats don't show it but they were pulling off some nice runs. I saw Brossette turn a couple losses into 2-3 yard runs. We also had some good blocks. Our offense is built to run block, everyone from the O-line, to TE's and WR's.

120 rushing yards against that defense, in their own house is impressive. Our offense will get better over the next few weeks.

It’s a blessing in disguise. No “old faithful” to rely on instead of developing the passing game

I saw some good things from CEH, I feel like the game is starting to come to him

I think Brosette and CEH will be effective this year. I'd like to see Curry out of the I a little bit - he seems like that kind of back.

Also Lanard in space.

Then bring on Cain, Davis and Emery next year

Don’t blame a lack of running game on the O-Line...

LSU doesn’t have any real options outside of Brossette.

Edwards-Hellaire looks good in the Wildcat formation, but he hasn’t had any other impact in normal rushing formations, such as running out of the I or running it out of the shotgun.

We had 120+ rush yards against a great rush defense...

What are you talking about?

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by our running game this season.

Average yards per carry weren't great yesterday, but we still did enough to keep a damn good defense honest.

How many yards did Brossette have?

How many did Edwards-Hellaire have?

Brossette can’t be the only option rushing wise if you want to beat teams like State, UGA, Bama, and aTm.

A) as many said, that was by design
B) by design for a good reason
C) if you are going to spread them out and not run power (no FB), this is how you gain an extra blocker.
D) Brossette + CEH carried the ball 29 times, for a game where we intentionally wanted to pass alot that's pretty balanced. Kept them honest.

Only critique I would have regarding the rushing game overall is that I wish we'd attack the edges more. We count on RB bounces to do that, which is fine. But I do think we need to send the flow that way intentionally. Later in the game there might be some cutback possibilities if you establish it.

How would you even know that?

Also, why would a team want to “pass a lot” versus pounding the ball and boosting its momentum after it goes up 10-0?

We have one decent running back, and it scares me. It should scare all of you, too.

It was no secret. Especially on 1st down.

We started 9 of 13 drives with a pass.

The Burrow runs shifted the run/pass ratio back to our normal %'s. But again, there was a method to the madness in regards to the LBs and an effective passing game for that.
