That isn't quite right. A player can play under either set of rules for now. 2027 enrollees will have to use the new set exclusively. But for Trey Dez, it would not benefit him.

This is correct.
I think TD7 could get a redshirt still if he is playing under old rules, correct?
Even if he could RS, he is going to the NFL.

Yes. If he was out for the season, he could get a traditional redshirt or a medical redshirt.

This is the thing: he would get drafted high regardless and would have no benefit from a redshirt, and 1 redshirt under the old rules is the same as the new rule. The only way it might benefit him to use the old rules would be if he gets hurt again next season.
