I know he's a former player and long-time assistant… Do you guys have any detailed knowledge of his past stints with other teams and what his offensive philosophy might be?

I'm not sure but it can't be any worse.

Going to be a lot of turnovers, imo.

The last two times aTm beat LSU, in 1994 and 1995, Steve Ensminger was the OC for them.

He knows what he's doing. The problem is that he has very little time to prepare the offense.

My guess is a much more simplified offense with more passing to the outside.

Probably some picks but, that comes with the territory.

The receivers had better step up big time if we are to salvage the season.

You don't think he's learned anything in 20 years? ETA: I have no reading comprehension.

I'm not overly excited about him, but at this point I'm just ready to start moving forward. It's going to be a long 2-3 months.

Correct. Play action 5 yard outs to the tight ends is going to be the new toss dive for us. He's a pro style guy. I think that's a good thing. Not much learning curve for the players .

He will install a Run-Pass option in the offense. It should force the opponents from loading the box against us.

He coached WRs at West Monroe in the early 2000s.

Change #1 ... allowing the QB to check off at the line of scrimmage.

Baw. Steve Ensminger, LSU's new OC, was the OC for the Aggies the last time they beat us. That was 21 and 22 years ago.

Under him they went undefeated in '04. They went 9-3 in '05.

And yes, he has learned plenty, from many good coaches in 20 years.

ETA: At LSU he was an OK quarterback, sharing time with David Woodley, a future 8 year pro. He was rumored to be a raging poon hound. He was as tough as a railroad spike on the field though.

Yeah...he was the Offensive Coordinator at LA Tech when Jason Davis, running back, set the state record for most carries in a game with 47.

Jason Davis 47 carries

Hopefully he will get Fournette 50 this Saturday.

I didn't realize that. Jason Davis was awesome. They had another Jason around the same time that was really good too. Fatter, through. What was his last name?

You will still see an occassional I formation with JDM, but should see more 3 WR sets, and 3 WR with a TE in pass route, more TE targets.
