Agreed! Half of my family went to Tech (the bad half), and they have as many obnoxious fans as USL that hate LSU with a passion because they are under the delusional misconception that their school competes with LSU for the same players.

They cheer against us any chance they get. Especially when we play BAMA!

I hope Texas hangs 70 on’em!

I always pull for Louisiana schools and I will in this game as well but tech fans are the most delusional college fans as stated and they are a state school with no better chance than any other state school in this state. I expect that Texas will beat tech as bad as they want. Just no comparison in talent or coaching. I recognize miracles happen I.e. ulm beating Alabama but don’t expect it.

I will pull for Tech in this one, but Tech plus 20 is a sucker bet. I would not do it.

Wait so you are saying every state school in the state is even? That’s a pretty dumb thing to say.

LA Tech has won five consecutive bowl games, appeared in two conference championships. Had more NFL draft picks than any other school in the state, excluding LSU, in recent years. They have beaten multiple power five schools in recent years. South Carolina needed a Hail Mary to beat Tech two seasons ago. Last season LSU led by just three midway through the fourth quarter. They have beaten Lafayette into submission in the past two meetings (one in Ruston, one in Lafayette).

Louisiana Tech is clearly the #2 football program in the state right now and it really isn’t up for debate.

You sound extremely bitter but that seems to be the consensus of ULM fans when it comes to Tech.

You guys are flat out full of shite. Tech fans are not delusional and they don't root against LSU. You're talking about a few of their fans that make up a fan board. I graduated from Tech and nobody I was ever around rooted against LSU. In fact, most of them root for LSU. This crap you guys spew all the time about Tech fans is just asinine gibberish. With that being said, Texas will not blow Tech off the field.

Yes. If LSU hadn't gotten a couple of incorrect calls go their ways when they played them it would have been a vastly different game. And I'm a LSU homer.

So, bottom line, they have a chance.

If we had a competent QB I would feel okay but we don't. I think it will be just like the LSU game last year. We will hang in there & due to a few idiotic TO's & depth in the 4th quarter we can't get it done.

I will be at this game. Can't wait. I have never been to a game in Austin so I am looking forward to it.

What is going on here, because LSU played one of their worst games of the season and only beat LA tech by 3 scores last year they play "Big boy football"? Yes LA tech is also from Louisiana but that is no excuse for this sort of delusion on our message boards.

Miss st. beat them 45-3, LA tech is a powderpuff team and any major program if they play close to their potential will blow them out.

That's the same Tech I knew. We would watch the LSU games at tailgates or have parties to watch them and root for them on Saturdays. This is complete nonsense made up by a Indian / Warhawk / whatever the frick they are

It’s not delusional to say that your the next best team in the state and it’s not even close? Mcneese was playing LSU of their feet before the game ended by weather. Ulm was playing LSU a touchdown game for a while, beating them early a few years ago before being blown out like tech. Ull has one a few bowl games as well and beat a&m. southern put more pros in nfl then any school in Louisiana up until a few or more years ago but none of this makes any of these teams the next best team in the state. Outside of transfers like pro bowlers Stan Humphries, the state schools get just enough talent to play mid major football. Admittedly tech has been on a good roll but it would be a huge fluke for tech to beat Texas. Ulm beat Arkansas and Alabama and nearly beat miss state and auburn. Tech should be proud and I will be as well if they keep it a game worth watching to the finish.

I think it’s a dangerous game for Texas. Both Tech and Tom Herman’s teams tend to play their best ball against the toughest teams on their schedule, but struggle in games they shouldn’t. Not only is this one of those games for UT, but it’s the first game and the week before LSU-UT.

If Texas can execute early, the game will be over in the first quarter. If they let Tech hang around it could get ugly.

Not when there is more than enough information to back it up.

quote:

Mcneese was playing LSU of their feet before the game ended by weather.

Didn’t the game get cancelled five minutes into the first quarter?

quote:

Ulm was playing LSU a touchdown game for a while, beating them early a few years ago before being blown out like tech.

You lost 31-0 and haven’t even put up a point in your last two meetings. Please don’t try and compare that to what Tech did last season.

quote:

Ull has one a few bowl games as well and beat a&m

They beat A&M in 1996... 23 years ago. 23 YEARS. ULL has won four bowl games in their programs history (although two are vacated). Tech has won five in the past five years

quote:

southern put more pros in nfl then any school in Louisiana up until a few or more years ago

What? 30 years ago?

quote:

but none of this makes any of these teams the next best team in the state.

That has to be the worst arguments I have ever seen to justify someone being the best in the state.

As an LSU fan I would feel more comfortable (confident) playing ULM or ULL than LaTech.

And FYI, it's not like an Alabama/Auburn or Florida/Florida St thing. LSU and Tech do not generally compete against each other for athletes or championships so I pull for Tech when we are not playing them.

Let’s see last year you lost to Univ of ala Birmingham by 21 points, miss st by 42, western Kentucky by 15 and a southern miss team that ulm handled. But your next hardest game on the schedule this year might be bowling green. Good luck with Texas but you do look destined for another bowl game and of course solidifying your number 2 status.

There it is. I figured you were trying to do some mental gymnastics to say ULM was a better program. ULM fans are so funny

Let me spell it out for you. The way LSU fans view ULL, that is how Tech fans view ULM. You aren’t our rival. We don’t even have any interest in playing you. It does nothing for us. ULM isn’t worth our time and we don’t care if they call Tech “scared” or whatever other nonsense they come up with.
