Any chance La Tech gives Texas trouble in week one?

Texas is a 20 point favorite, but Tech has (at least in year's past) has been able to put up points and scare bigger programs.

Absolutely. Their minds are completely on week 2 and this will be the biggest game of the year for LA Tech. UT lost to fricking Maryland two years in a row, so anything is possible.

Texas is a little overrated to begin with. Tech maybe underrated. Throw in that its week 1 and texas will be looking ahead to LSU and I think it Texas will pull out a close one.

Absolutely. Tech always plays tough and Texas could be for one, overrated, and for two, focused on week 2.

The Tech offense should improve over last season. Pretty much everyone returns including the QB (who wasn’t great frankly). The defense loses a stud in Ferguson, but the leading tackler at LB and a good secondary return.

I would rather be playing Ga Southern week 1 than La Tech.
Off topic: la Tech has some of the most arrogant and delusional fans this side of Austin so I bet their message boards will be good leading up to this one.

Texas will win but i would put a nice chunk of change on Tech covering if the line stays at -20.

Wasn't even week 1, but after Texas lost to Maryland Week 1 last year they got out to a 21-0 lead on Tulsa the next week by halftime then Tulsa cut it to 21-14 in the 2nd half, Texas scored again to make it 28-14, then Tulsa had a quick 75 yard TD drive in the 4th quarter to make it 28-21 with 5 minutes left in game, Texas was able to milk the rest of the clock to win the game 28-21.,...La Tech could definitely give them a lot of fits.
For reference, Tulsa was a 3-9 team last season. Arkansas, yes, 2-10 Arkansas, beat them 23-0.

They lost Ferguson, as well as their DC to Miami, but yeah I think they can make it a game.
Hopefully they get a few nice shots on Ehlinger, too.
