So you’re saying they hope he quits. Don’t hold your breath. Simply not going to happen with that buyout. Stupid contracts have consequences.

I don't remember anything about an offset clause. Disregard if it's in there then.

That’s neither how it works or the correct amounts.

He’ll get 80% of his remaining contract, which is less than $7 million paid over 3 years and reduced by any other job he would take. He’s 47, he would definitely look to land somewhere.

If he lands another job, he’ll come in and negotiate a reduced lump sum buyout.

Trent also didn’t have a 7 year guaranteed contract like MM, f you Woody

Johnson signed an initial 5-year contract in 2008. He got a 1 year extension in 2009 after winning the SEC. So, in essence, it was a 6 year deal. He left with 2 years remaining on his contract. In that context the 7 years is just one year more. The problem is LSU never even got one good year out of McMahon...making the 7 year term far more onerous.

You don’t think finishing tied for 7th in the then 14 team SEC and getting waxed at home by North Texas in the NIT wasn’t a good year? Someone needs to tell tigersbb and the pirate girl. They shouldn’t be difficult to locate while they try to untangle their tails.

Only an idiot would walk away from the buyout. I don't care how wonderful of a person he is. He's gonna take his firing and his buyout money to the bank.

I don't know. Someone that should know, knows. That is all I'm going to say.

Right now, I would give it a 50 to 60 percent chance he comes back. It's not a 100 percent thing at all.
