Watch Kling hit .350 with 15 homers next year with new team and go top 3-5 rounds in draft.

It’s funny people still say this.

Because if he becomes a consistent hitter and keeps every other tool (he has power, plus speed, and is a plus defender), he will be. Sometimes it clicks later at the plate for some than others. Or it may never click. That's the beauty of using the word "if".

Very strange that he wasn't able to hit consistently here. I think he would have been better sticking it out with Jay. There's not many better developers of hitters. Look at Jared Jones

There is nothing average about his arm. Can't be a 5 tool player with an "average" arm. I've seen him make some unbelievable throws from center.

Gonna miss his defense, but he wasn't able to advance at the plate.

He may go to South Carolina with Maneri since that is who he signed for initially. Several of our players in the portal may end up there.

I don’t think USCe would look kindly upon Mainieri if he’s taking all of LSU’s bench players.

Well we said all season there would be major roster turnover once we finished up. Here it comes.

I'm trusting Jay to bring in the missing pieces.

I am at the point as to sacrifice a year to rebuild through recruiting where we are not counting on 7 to 8, 1 or 2 year transfers to be competitive.

Maybe get 2-3 tranfers rest build through recruiting.

I think we're seeing coaches trying to adapt their strategies to the transfer portal(pretty much free agency,) and NIL(pretty much free agency,) it'll probably take a while for this to sort out

You can't rebuild, you have to reload. We need WAY more than that through the portal. And if you haven't noticed, top-notch recruits will leave after 1-2 years if they aren't everyday players. You have to start with recruiting HS players but know that they will leave for a better situation if they aren't happy. You have to replace those guys through the portal. You also have players like Jones who can leave after two years for the draft. We can't fill the holes on this roster with high school recruits.

From Jay’s perspective, you can’t guarantee a position because that isn’t what is best for the team.

This is exactly what was done last year with more than one player.

This, he can cover the field. Only wish him the best. A very deserving player.

He recorded some 92 mph throws as a junior in HS from the OF. I don’t think there was ever a point that his arm look average compared to any other center fielder.

MLB.com write up - “ Kling records some plus run times and his speed is an asset on both sides of the ball, giving him a good chance to stick in center field, though his above-average arm would play in a corner should a move be necessary.”
