Fantastic. People who don't pay attention will just congratulate Joe Alleva on the one thing they care about. Profitability. I'm all for spending as much as possible to win and obviously don't want that burden to fall on the tax payer but dammit these are college athletic departments. They shouldn't be run for profit. They should be run to compete and win and have a good fan experience. If you can make money off of that great. But so much of the experience is being destroyed in the name of money.

Damn, that’s a hell of a year for A&M

A&m can write off the entire 75 million to jimbo on this past year alone almost. We need to start spending like the big boys if we want to be serious in the college football championship talk

The top five spend more than LSU makes so they literally can’t spend as much as them.

Looks like there is room to accommodate the fan base with small perks like reducing concession prices and still netting a profit.

I wish they ranked by the actual profit. Misleading to see Texas at #1 making $7mil and Oregon at #12 making $26mil.

Interesting data --
Does the final column (total allocated) mean schools like La. Tech and ULL are pulling cash out of their univ general fund to balance the books on the athletic department side?

Joe Alleva, a Lehigh alum, made $16 mil +- and hired Ed Orgeron.
Scott Woodward, an LSU alum, made $60+ mil and hired Jimbo Fisher (plus hired Chris Petersen at Washington)
WTF are we waiting on?

no one seems to acknowledge that A&M's revenue INCLUDES their pledges for stadium renovation. that keeps their revenues artificially high and definitely distorts their "profits".
I couldn't figure out why they would do this and then it hit me they need something to brag about and they need to be up there with Tejas.

So TAMU AD is the best job on that list by a mile.
You’ll see them pass all of us with Scott there and all of that cash.

How does Georgia have such low expenses? Is it because they never travel for non conference games?

# 5 in the SEC in Revenue Production; LSU is mediocre in bringing in $$$$$$$$$ as well.

Keep in mind, some of those 'expenses' are probably balance sheet items that they are allowed to write-off (facility improvements, purchase of an airplane, etc). So while it looks like Texas doesn't make much profit on their bazzilion dollar revenue, my guess is a lot of those expenses are items that improve their program. It's not just dollars flying out the window.
The most impressive numbers to me are Texas A & M. Crazy revenue and crazy profit. Those guys spend money. It's not like they're hording it. They are killing it over there financially.
And for those that have said there is room for LSU to lower cost or give some perks to fans based on the profit shown. Take a look at the list above LSU and see how many SEC (and SEC West) school are up there. Those programs are not going to reduce prices and slow down. If you want to keep up, you better keep up.

LSU is ninth on the list. That is top 7% of schools. Id say we are definitely playing with the big boys.

So they make that much money just to spend that much money??
How in the world is every team spending that much? Where does it go?
