Andre Carter seems like a very solid hire

I just watched his introductory press conference and you can tell this guy knows how to coach. He has a real straightforward style of speaking that players are going to really appreciate.
He has a solid understanding of the game and also knows how to break the game down to very simple concepts.
You can just tell when this guy speaks players are going to listen and he will definitely have the respect of these kids. I think he is going to end up being one of the most liked coaches on the entire roster, and this should translate extremely well into the recruiting side of things.
On a side note, he mentioned his old man is Reuben Carter the NT for the Denver Broncos all through the 70's and he was a really good one too.

He is a great hire.

His dad was a Bronco way back and coached in the NFL. Andre grew up with a good education and went to Cal, played well in the NFL and got into coaching immediately. He’s a lifer when it comes to high level football, plus he looks like a body builder. Coach deluxe.

I actually met him in the airport when he was Redskin, we were both in San Fran flying back to DC. Super nice guy, gave me his autograph, chatted me up about Skins football (10-15 minutes) until first class was called and he left. I was of course was sitting in the back with the peasants.
My point: absolute class act, nice guy, and when he shook my hand he damn near ripped my arm off.

Decent article in the advocate about Andre Carter. Carter really comes across as a non nonsense football coach that knows how to teach and relate to kids who want to be great D-Lineman. That is something that should go a very long way in the play of our D-Line, as well as the ability to land the best Defensive line recruits in the nation.
I hope he has already been in contact with Shemar Stewart and recruiting that kid hard, as he could be a really special player.
