Sure there is stuff to work on, but the offense did what they had to do. Get some points and keep CFU offense on the bench. This and that should have/should not have happened on both sides of the ball, but Tigers won and I'm not complaining.

The Citadel scored 17 points on Alabama's defense and I'd venture to say our offensive line is at least as good as, if not better than, their's.

The citadel also runs the triple option. Didn’t complete a pass vs bama. Should we emulate?

I think coaching and talent is part of it unfortunately.

Absolutely could have put aTm game away with some testicular fortitude to pick up first down in regulation to seal the win.

Because the bama second and third string was in before halftime.

The quick fix is to add more quick game passing, allowing the tackles to cut block

Or

Add more RPO plays where you can take advantage of aggressive backers and slow them down

Yes / No / Yes

Quicker passes open things up if executed. Spread out the defense, find a little space and exploit it quickly. Make the defense come up and then exploit that. Attack, not react.

RPO? Yeah -- modern offense. It's something LSU should do, but chooses not to.

One thing: cut blocking is illegal. Considering how integral cut blocking was to the zone-scheme, it's another reason I cannot fathom switching to the zone-blocking system with an incompetent boob of an OL coach.

The quick fix us more talent at RB

We ended the year with almost 2900 passing yards

2900?! My goodness!

63rd in the nation. 8th in the SEC!

67th in yards per game. 7th in the SEC!

657 of those yards came in the last two games, including a 7 OT game and the UCF defense, which isn't great. Before A&M, LSU was averaging ~210 yards passing a game -- that's after SELA, LA Tech and Rice.

17 passing touchdowns on the year. That is terrible no matter how you look at it.

Exactly.

I've been trashing the offense since the Florida game and I'm sick of seeing myself typing the same words over and over again.

I just don't understand how people saw LSU play this past season and felt like this Les Miles offense was good enough. It wasn't good enough.

Why fans are not clamoring to fix the one lingering weakness is beyond my comprehension. Oh, and for good measure -- Cregg sucks and hiring him was a mistake.

I posted this in another thread but I’ll say it here.

We were 7th in the conference in passing attempts. 11th in completion percentage. 11th in passing touchdowns. In no way should that be considered a good season.

Seems like a lot of what you said still comes down to one thing.... Coaching.

I don’t think cut blocks are illegal outside of the tackle box. I saw Texas OTs cut on quick game passes the whole game in the sugar bowl.

I’m pretty sure college WRs can cut block as well as long as the defender is facing you

I agree with this. What would our passing stats look like without the overtime in the tamu game?

Also played 14 games essentially.
