He really didn’t play poorly against A&M. His stats were comparable to the Alabama game and that was with a couple of key drops by receivers. He had one bad play with the fumble.

I want the best QB to start. I hope Daniels will push the ball downfield to our great receivers to utilize our biggest advantage and keep the defense honest. I hope Nuss can continue to do the things he does well, but learn to not throw the ball into coverage.
Whichever QB can achieve this improvement should be the starter. I hope that Kelly will go with the hot hand if one doesn't step up. The teams that gave Daniels problems would have had major problems with Nuss attacking downfield as evidenced by the second half against Georgia.

Daniels isn’t gonna come in and be joe burrow all of a sudden 5 years later in college, he is what he is and will be more of the same next year. I don’t care about this one’s predictions and that one’s predictions he was very inconsistent even after he got it figured out per say. Nuss has all the tools he just needs to work on decision making and know when to throw away and when to let it rip. Both are inconsistent only difference is Daniels has 4 years starting experience over Nuss

The way you worded it made it seem more like a Daniels problem than a positive about Nuss. Daniels DID step up in those games and outplayed Nuss in the bowl. It’s comforting to know that Nuss is showing signs of maturing and offers a credible backup should Daniels get injured or they need a change of pace. He just hasn’t shown any greater consistency or potential than Daniels has already provided.

Man I swear this board has some of the dumbest IQ "fans". All national media has him on the watch list now and he was a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien award. He's definitely on the list of heisman candidates this year.

4 turnovers including a fumble return for a TD were the reason we won. The offense scored 14 points with the biggest pass play being being a swing pass for 39 yards by Emery. Outside that, JD threw for 41 yards.
JD should be the QB, especially if he starts playing more aggressive, but he did not lead a comeback vs auburn.

It really is amazing. I don't know a single LSU fan outside this forum who has anything but praise for him.
The idiot above talking about how the SEC figured him out and completely forgets he hit like 200 yards on Georgia's defense in the first half. The NC team with an elite defense was having trouble against the guy who his best attribute couldn't even be used in the game on one foot. Then Nuss comes in and melts them even more.

It’s amusing watching you people act like teams aren’t going to make Daniels beat them with his arm in 2023.
If he continues to average 200 yards and 1 passing TD per game LSU’s ceiling will be similar to this season.

Daniels in high on preseason watch lists; not some local homer fanboy's list. National, objective, "these are the top returning guys who can make a difference" lists. They're not pushing for anyone, or playing favorites, and they're putting Daniels high up there.

Who said they're not? Idiots on here think a QB can't get better with development because he's a 5th year player. Scouts say completely different he's already seen big progression in limited time at LSU. He didn't have the coaching he has now so if he keeps progressing sky is the limit.
Hooker is like 30-years-old and the right system before he figured it out in college.

This isn’t a video game. Progression isn’t linear. We saw some improvements from him during the season, but we also saw regression after Bama.
What we’ve seen from Daniels is that he’s still incredibly inconsistent. That can’t be the case in 2023.
