Wait. People actually think Max Johnson would’ve beaten Brennan out of the starting job this fall?

Not sure what Lester meant but I was responding to his post

“He’d prob win the starting job”

Hasn’t he said this the last 4 years lol

Seemed to imply that Brennan being the starter this year was not apparent. I could have misunderstood.

Based on what we've seen, I would think he did in 2021.

He beat out a Freshman, sure. And for the most part played below average when he had his shot. He wasn’t winning the job coming out of camp. Very few, if any thought he was ahead. And that was consistentt all the way through

If that's the case then we were always fricked this year and next year, because Max Johnson is not it.

I think entering the portal is all about options. Since he does not know who the new coach will be, he gets to investigate possible landing spots. If the new hire impresses him or fits, he can always leave the portal and remain at LSU

Is that commonplace that LSU would honor his scholly?

You should remember you said that when Brennan makes an NFL roster.

I should remember I laughed at the idea of inserting a QB solely on third-down passing plays if they make an NFL roster? You realize the QBs that were in front of him for his first two years also made NFL rosters?

I don’t really see how transferring makes a ton of sense. He’s the best QB in the room with two years to play. I’d hope he’s just getting the name in there to see what the options are. If something better pops up, I get it. Or if he just absolutely wants a fresh start elsewhere either way.

He probably feels it's time for a fresh start and wants more stability. He's been here a while, I completely understand his decision.

He will go to some smaller school that maybe has a good receiver, and try to show what he can do in a passing game. He has given LSU his all and it hasn't worked out. There is no guarantee at all that he would be able to showcase his talent at LSU next year. He has one year left to try to get enough attention to be able to hold a clipboard in the NFL for 2-3 years before getting finally cut. Tough career path.

According to all the insiders who were hearing from the players before the 2021 season even started, Brennan had already lost the starting job to Max.

No way he beats out Max with all of his experience now next year. while Nussmeier has a higher ceiling that both of them, and Howard may beat them all out.

Brennan is transferring because he wants an opportunity to be a starter and he knows he will never win the staring job at LSU.

If you think he'd beat Max out, you're delusional and don't know anything about football.

Bayoucatfan has got it right . Miles is not an SEC quarterback . Too petite , very slow on his feet , very fragile . He needs a lesser conference to play in and he will do fine . SEC play is big man football .

Yes, you are the only one. If nothing else, select few. It’s smart for him to do it now. The guy has paid his dues and simply had terrible luck. He truly needs a fresh start.

Wow. Guy played two games, everything else is just hype. Can’t make it through two games, let alone a season. Can’t make it down a pier, let alone go fishing. The guy has a long way to go before he makes an NFL roster, that’s just reality. First thing for him is to figure out how to stay healthy, second is to put substantial time in the weight room, and third is figure out how to step up in the pocket and work on his foot work.
