I don't care who the QB (Barring the Mett short ERA) but it seems we don't really have any answers to more "options" when it comes to throwing the ball.

Very few passes to the TE (That are available all day long)

Very few passes to the RB (Which are safe plays and good for give the QB a few easy passes to get confidence)

Very few quick slants (Which would answer the problem we are seeming to have with too much QB pressure on Harris right now and the QBs in the past)

Too many "one option" pass plays. Especially in the red zone. This "roll out" with ONLY ONE OPTION to pass is ridiculous.

Our most common "go to route" appears to be "Throw it up deep and hope 83 or 15 come down with it.

Good defenses will eat this up and keep LSU's offense at bay.

Fournette can run for 200 yds and LSU will still lose games against the likes of Bama, Ole Miss, A&M and maybe even Arkansas with our passing game.

Its a fact. We will have a Heisman and greatest RB of all time and still possibly lose 3 games this year because we don't give our QB a chance.

Hopefully they can get it figured out but our "history" doesn't seem to give evidence that that will happen.

Totally agree on the quick slants/quick throws. Has never looked completely comfortable back there....so, one would THINK our $2 million OC would do some things to help him out.

It's a fact. It's is a contraction for it is. "Its" is the possessive form if it.

So you would say it is a fact, not its a fact.

So it's, "it's a fact", not "its a fact".

Harris didn't have much time to throw the ball without pressure. The obvious key is pass protection and that can be improved. I don't care for threads like this at this juncture because Harris just completed his 4th game as a starter and 3rd game on the road as a starter as a true Sophomore. Right now he is fine because his decision making is on point. He will shine as the season continues! Sit back and enjoy the ride.

At what point do we quit using the he's just a sophomore moniker? My god the college landscape is littered with freshmen and sophomore QB's that are really good with much less experience than he has. He will have to step it up in the very near future and I hope he is up to it.

What does his numbers look like yesterday without the drops? How would those catches have changed the game?

although the numbers aren't reflective at this point, this passing game has a much different "feel" than that of the JJ/JL era.

We will install a full Mettenberger passing offense for Harris by the time he's a senior too

(Maybe the WRs will catch by then, too)

The "feel" of the passing game is a byproduct of the coaching philosophy and can be described quite literally in a couple of words "tentative", "inept", and "ineffective". We aren't fooling anyone and to win the big games we are going to have to be multifaceted.

Harris looked fine yesterday and is capable of much more than Anthony Jennings. If we need to throw, I think we can with Harris (he succeeded yesterday in the most challenging moment). Our WRs do need to start catching better. We dropped 3 or so easy ones yesterday with one of them being a bomb. He would have been easily over 200 yards with a little more focus from the WRs. I can't say his pocket awareness is bad either because the O-line completely whiffed on blocks a few times yesterday.

I agree with everything you said. I'm not sure why we can't just drop back and make normal passes. The rollout is the worst.

I'm glad that Syracuse exposed our pass protection yesterday so we can make adjustments. Hopefully we will use one of these games as practice for passing.

Drops are going to happen on all teams.

Haven't I read this before the MSU game? And the Auburn game? Not so much before Syracuse.
Maybe I have to give you birds points for being consistent but then I have to dock you for not being original.

So bitch on, brother. It's what you do.

Why can't the RB or TE go out 5 yards or so, turn and look at the QB? Minimum 5 yards each time. Simple and builds the QB's confidence...seems like a no brainer.

One of the things I've noticed is Brandon's composure is there this year their just not calling enough passing plays to allow him to establish some kind of flow passing on third downs is hard to do when the defense knows what your going to do every passing play doesn't have to be a play action play

History shows the opposite losing to A & M and Ole Miss. I believe we will see the same this year. History also shows the exact same with Bama. They run the same game and so do we. I think we win two of the three as usual.

That's bullshite. If LF runs for 200 yards on those teams and we don't turn the ball over there is no way LSU loses to those teams. Stop watching Big 12 football
