Allow Greedy & Ed To Make The Fiesta Bowl Trip?
While I am thankful for what these players did for LSU I so no to them traveling to the bowl game. They both have decided to NOT be part LSU any longer so they shouldn't get to travel on LSU. If they want to buy their own tickets and go then great!

So why would Greedy and Ed want to go?

They quit the team. They can watch their former teammates on tv. If they want to go, put the uniform on and play.

Small thing, but I wonder if they get the “Bowl gifts”? PS4 was one of them I believe.
Greedy will be able to afford whatever the hell he wants.

Not just no, but hell no.
Regardless of justification, which I'm not arguing here, they quit on their teammates, coaches, and university.

I'm sure both have hired an agent (Greedy most certainly did) which would make him not eligible to make the trip with the team, or play college football.
I have never understood this rule. An agent is not a pro sport. Just because you hire an agent doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee that you will play professional sports. An agent is nothing more than a glorified job finder website like monster.com. If you had a physics major on an academic scholarship and he hired someone to find him a job, you wouldn’t tell him “sorry, you can’t do physics at this school anymore”.

In a lot of cases these agents front money. That's the problem.
I like the way baseball does it. Get drafted and still have the option of returning to school if a deal can't be made.

No. They decided to forgo the bowl game. Shake their hands, make facility available for their continued workouts, welcome them back when they're in the NFL but don't take them to the bowl game.
They shouldn't get any bowl swag or a ring either. They've now shifted from being a current player to a former player.

I get that, but technically that’s the same as a bank giving them a loan and not a professional sports team paying them to play said sport. The agent, like a bank, is taking a gamble that the athlete will be able to pay off the loan (+ interest in the case of the banal loan or in the agents case, future % of the athletes earnings).
I do wish they would allow players to attempt to get drafted and if they don’t like their draft spot, give them the ability to come back. I hate this “You’re trying to get a professional job? You’re done here.” approach.

It's also inconsistent across NCAA sports. In hockey, you can explicitly hire an agent and retain eligibility. In baseball, you can have an "advisor" help negotiate a deal with a team for you, but you retain eligibility until you sign, and at that point the "advisor" becomes an agent.
In football, if an agent looks in your direction for more than 4 consecutive seconds, you've lost your eligibility.
The reality is that we lost Greedy for the bowl game because he now has an agent, but we have a DB committed who, if he doesn't have one now, will have one in June.
The NCAA needs to reevaluate all sports and how they deal with this. Hockey has it more right than it does wrong. Baseball is on the way, but not quite there. Basketball's rules about entering the draft and taking your name out are okay, but the representation side of it is behind the times.

Everytime I read this board I get disgusted and just want to punch someone in the face. Miserable mfrs on this board. They should absolutely go. They've paid for that right and have given more to LSU than Coach O's fat arse has(who get paid btw unlike them).

I am sure their agents can spot them the money to finance their trip. They are no longer active members of the current roster so they should not be rewarded on LSUs dime. It’s all about those business decisions.

frick no. Once you declare for the draft, you're not even on the team anymore.
