I promise you he will screw this basketball hire up. It will be a terrible hire and he'll walk into the press conference rattle off some ridiculous reason for hiring someone with a 51% winning percentage and drop the mic. He is the worst, he thinks he is the smartest in the room but he is the dumbest. I honestly worry that coaches are avoiding him like the plague and all we will get are guys that no one really wants. I wish the local sports media would start taking him to task about the way things are going. No offense to the gymnastics team but when this is the best program we have a problem. Down vote me all you want but the guy is just terrible.

Because most people cite football, baseball or basketball as their favorite sport. I think it's great gymnastics won the SEC, and I hope they win a national championship. But I want football, baseball and basketball at the same level because I follow those sports more closely, and I actually like to watch those sports.

And it was great that track and field was successful, but a lot of us aren't watching it or going to the meets. I'm proud when my school succeeds in anything. I just want the three sports I watch and truly care about to be on that level.

The only thing worse than track is field.

This is irrelevant at all. Who cares if the gymnastics teams wins more titles than all the other sports. The point is to have elite programs always competing for championships, under Alleva LSU athletic programs have regressed it seems. He's put an awful stain on LSU image in athletics and the university.

I mean look at Oklahoma, there best sports are gymnastics and softball. They win titles every year and their success has actually had a huge impact on OU sports. Success in any sport really helps with the image of the school and other athletic programs. I think its really underestimated actually.

Because it's not money maker, unfortunately. It can't support the other programs or even itself.

I swear, many of our fans act like they are hoping Alleva screws up the hire so they can be "right". He's not going anywhere soon unless Coach O is a total failure.

How about we wait to complain until the hire is made at least? Although someone will bitch no matter who it is.

Our Director's Cup point totals and finishes have been better on average under Alleva than when Skip was running the show. Our GSR is at an all-time high, too.

Although I don't like Alleva, AND don't like his hires, this simply is not true.

Big picture: make money, graduate student athletes, keep your nose clean w/the NCAA.

LSU has been exemplary in each of those areas - perhaps the best in school history.

This, fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, is what a large portion of parents, booster, etc. care about.

Alleva has made some mistakes, but the criticism is over the top. His boss overruled his firing of Les Miles. When Alleva was able to fire Miles he did. This time, his first choice Jimbo wasn't doing the dance. #2 Hermann wanted the Texas job. Alleva only turned to Orgeron - his 3rd choice, because he wouldn't allow Hermann to dis LSU by waiting. There have been facility upgrades all over campus for several sports. Gym, SB, and baseball are elite level programs. But, his job will hinge on the FB/BB hire. Orgeron is unheralded, but I think FB is positioned to return to an elite level. He can only miss on FB once. He's got 2 strikes with BB so this hire is critical too. Our coach must still be working.

I agree and can't stand Alleva but King Alexander is the bigger problem.

Not even sure what this means. Football is king, but Bama isn't within sniffing distance of us when it comes to NCAA championships and a well-rounded athletic department.

Of course I want their success in football, but I'm proud our school has more than just that.

Coach is not an alleva hire. Probably why they won the sec.
