Now, THAT is comedy, Willis!

Dude, they ALL cheat to some extent......don't be so naive.

Guys, Les is going no where and McCarthy was already slated for the axe. Old news. Move on.

Violations of what?

Sounds like LSU is on top of it, whatever it was, but does anyone know what kind of violation we're talking about here?

They are implying he goes to LSU, its Tolliver

Tolliver played this season. He was in on the 99 yard drive conducted by the backups against Tulane. He was overthrown on a pass.

Not Tim Molten?

Again, the question I've always had since talking to the two folks I talked to earlier (and it was a their question as well) was how many players were involved in McCarthy's shenanigans. Benton was most assuredly involved and I would bet Auburns hands are dirty in this too. By the looks of it, I would guess Hicks is mixed up in this but I haven't heard validation.

Alleva's gotta be thinking "Oh, shite...there's that word again: 'allegations.'"

I'm sure he's hoping that he's got a more credible source pointing the finger this time.

Take this FWIW but here's a reader's comment from the ESPN article on this:

quote:

BrotherDutch (12/1/2009 at 10:44 AM) Report Violation Typcial. LSU has to cheat to get those boys out of Texas. Since I am an attorney and have a law school classmate in Sexton's office in Memphis, I know for a fact that everybody's favorite, Lane Kiffen, turned them in on this. And, it's no "minor" matter. Lane-boy has a couple of receipts that Orgeron got from the boy's momma who's mad her son didn't play.

Less Miles will be in big trouble on this one. It's going to mean some definite probation and probably the loss of about 9 schollies over three years. You simply can't buy someone and leave a paper trail.
LINK

The guy is probably FOS but then again, I wouldn't put it past Kiffen and Orgeron.

The same guy followed that comment up with this one:

quote:

BrotherDutch (12/1/2009 at 10:58 AM) Report Violation My buddy overhead the call about it from one of their "clients" on speaker phone. Said they were laughing pretty good about it. I don't know if/when it will surface in the press. Let me say this though, anyone in the SEC that doesn't believe that the University of Tennessee always has and ALWAYS WILL have someone inside the NCAA is not living in reality. There was no "Albert Means" investigation until Tennessee created one. When Pat Dye started taking kids from the Shoals and Huntsville, there was an Eric Ramsey investigation at Auburn. Tennessee is as dirty as LSU. They all are. It's who's careless. Saban was meticulous about who he allowed "inside" the LSU program. I think even the LSU fans will tell you that. If they won't, ask Glenn Guilbeau. Richt and Garner know what areas they'll always be protected in. They won't buy a kid in Florida. But, Less is an outsider. He thought the other coaches wouldn't turn him in like in the Big 12. Wrong.

I read in here somewhere that ranch dressing was involved.

No way the "boy's momma" gives receipts to Orgeron because she's "mad her son didn't play," especially if he is still on the team. Now, if it is Tim Molton, that could be another story . . .

If it is Hicks, I don't buy it at all.

These types of rumors always get started by people "in the know" who are trying to bring down a rival program.

But . . .

If this is involving McCarthy, it confirms rumors that have been swirling for awhile, especially if similar problems occurred with Benton. Plus, you that the Dexter Pratt fiasco that happened last January. We never heard what that was about. Apparently, he thought that he'd have a place to live lined up for him and when it didn't work out, he took off and went to Oklahoma St. Has this been a pattern?

I'm not saying that LSU coaches are using this kind of thing to get recruits. But, are they "taking care of them" once they arrive? If so, this could be a real problem.

Is full of shite.

Everything I have read and heard has shown LSU to have self-reported. Nobody turned us in. Miles told Alleva when he found out. Alleva wanted DJ fired on the spot. Miles told him he wouldn't let him go until season's end. Alleva was a little miffed, but not too bad.

DJ is fired.
Hicks is going to be gone.
Miles is going to be our coach in 2010.

In the spirit of full disclosure, my "source" is my Dad. He isn't super connected, but knows people.

Take it fwiw.

The fact that Hicks was a JUCO transfer, a DJ recruit, a DT, and didn't play at all this year are good signs that he's the player they're talking about. If so, I'm surprised this wasn't handled earlier. If the man didn't play b/c of this, he should have been thrown off the team and DJ fired immediately.

Miles is a victim of his own class.

He does things like that to help his people.

Clean out the whole bunch. Miles is not the long term solution for LSU.

Me too. Likely, Hicks has known that he was through for some time. This would be the only reason why his mother would turn LSU in to other coaches, per the comment on the ESPN article. Still, I think that is highly unlikely.

Why wouldn't Les have taken care of this earlier?
