I’m tired of watching Mathis play but I don’t acrually watch the games or really follow the team as shown by the fact I have no idea why Garza and Willis aren’t playing behind the plate and why Doughty is mainly the bullpen catcher.

I will get excited next February. Maybe next season, there will be talent on this ball club. I can’t see this team making a serious run.

Maybe next year we can get excited for a promising team. Hopefully, next year we'll have one of the top recruiting classes and ranked preseason #1.

oh wait

They are young. They will flip the switch later in the season.

Trying to figure out why so many posters here seem to think a series loss at mizzou is embarassing. Thats a pretty stout team.

It was also cold also. Can’t expect this preseason number one team to win in a series in that weather

It’s been over 20 years since we’ve had a starter batting under 200 to finish the season. We have 2 now.

Garza’s rehab hasn’t gone as quickly as expected
Willis is still recovering from a preseason surgery as well
Mathis is 3rd string & wasn’t expected to get much time this season

You're 100% correct. All things considered with this position, Mathis is doing a hell of a job as a 3rd stringer. He's been in there for so long, I keep forgetting that he wasn't even expected to get much time. I've been hard on him, but the dude is doing the best he can.

Based on the most common patter with CPM, this would be the weekend LSU starts to turn it on.

Always mid to late April.

If LSU can't win at least 3 of 6 in the next two SEC series at home, then it is time wrap it up.

Fair enough but that doesn't mean you can't agree with the general sentiment. People get the details wrong all the time but whether it's one guy batting 300 or two, it's still not good, right?

And yes, others have gotten opportunities but he's right that a lot of guys were/are unavailable. Wasn't Garza supposed to be the catcher but he was dealing with injuries early?

Instead of just taking a hard line on everything and trying to pick everything apart how about just a simple, "I agree in general with what you're saying but you got a few of the details wrong. Let me correct them for you.."

He’s done horrible. What are you talking about? Second most passed balls in sec, can’t throw a guy out to save his life, and can’t bat

shite, was last night the last game?

Also please link?
I’m assuming you are referencing Mathis (which has been explained to you) & Hughes
Hughes hasn’t started every game, mainly because he hasn’t been able to do anything at the plate

Thats not all on him - outside of Hess, most of our pitchers are slow to the plate. I agree about being a poor batter. The dude is 3rd string and wasn't even supposed to see the field.

Yes those 2. It’s from season stats. I can deal with Hughes but if we can’t get a better catcher by post season this team will go no where

Either way it’s a huge disadvantage when teams are stealing on you twice as much as the average

Yep, sucks when you have guys literally taking off before your pitcher’s first movement. Unless your catcher is Yadier Molina, you’re going to have a bad time. Now if you actually watched the games or followed the team, you’d understand that.

So we have shitty pitchers? Is that what you’re saying?
